I think I know of the reason why this share may be dropping .

Source guardian ‘B&Q support is good for one thing buck passing.

something is happening here and I get the feeling we’ll be the last to know. 24th is trading update. I wonder if beast from the east will be blamed.

Bidding for Homebase stores??
Terrible sales at B&Q and France??
5 year plan not working as planned??

Take your pick

I was shocked at the FY cash burn. KGF referenced an increase in
working capital on stocking new ranges as a reason. if that is the case,
you would expect some strong cash generation this year? lets see.

Thank you essentialinvestor.
I read the news on retail investor April 30. Not sure that would cause that drop today

Homebase/Bunnings recent UK sales were very poor.

32 million shares traded today. Highest ever? . Anyone know what’s happening?.
I don’t see the £/$ the cause of this much of a drop.

£/$, that is the problem for this company, they will see import costs rise as the pound weakens, and in a softening economy!

Something upset Kingfisher early this morning. Dipped to 282p (down 14p).

There was a good trading update from Howden's this morning. Competitor performing strongly, could that be the reason?

Any other thoughts?

Looking at the commentary on cashflow, they reference stocking on the new
unified ranges.

SP increased when Homebase said it would be closing stores. I don’t think it warranted a rise . Given the sector as a whole was doing bad and didn’t see B&Q benefiting either.
Market has been negative of the 5 year plan
B&Q is a shambles
Profits down 10%
Cash running out

The only silver lining is Screwfix

Mentioned last year listening to one of the conference calls and unimpressed.

Performance in France looks pretty dire, where has all that net cash gone?.

Buyback should have been suspended imv.

Is anyone a buyer at these levels?

Don't think the share is massively over-priced, but the outlook doesn't look strong. Where did all that cash go?!

Agreed last years share buy back I’ll conceived . This years is shear stupidity .

Dividend up 10%
Share buy back

When Annual profits are down 8% .

It’s not like the future is rosy ,

Hence the justified 8% drop in SP

Final results released this morning.

Thankfully, not holding any of these.

Fall in profit. High cost of transformation. More difficult UK market ahead.

£372 Million increase in working capital.

Transformation costs increased by £46 million.

Last year's share buyback was ill conceived, imo. A long way to go, with Brexit not starting for another 2(?) years. I fear that in a few years events may show they should have held on to the buyback cash.

Shares are 310p in the market, down 26p this morning.

Commiserations to holders.

Contrarian.
Good call on your part . Guess you got 3.55 ish . I sold just over 3.40. I think the company is still strong but changing the direction of a cruise liner without smashing a few plates will take time.
I intend keeping an i on them and maybe get back in at lower levels.
