Not sure you can base your investment strategy on the weekly moves in the Euro Essential Investor.

2 year chart may look like the Euro is strong:

A 10 yr chart shows a different story imo:

Screwfix proping up the rest of the group isnt going to lead to sound financial results. B@Q are being slaughtered by competitors.

Rumours are that they are going to close more B@Q, Like For Like sales are dismal.

KGF like PHTM are major beneficiaries of a stronger Euro,
nice bump up on the bottom line on any GBP weakness.

EURO GBP was nearing 1.42 a week ago, now 1.36 approx.

Bulk of profits for both companies generated in the Euro.

Now a proper interpretation of the chart, share price as fallen out of December uptrend channel and is facing resistance at a horizontal level at 377p/378p.

All bets are off until the share price returns into the up channel...........

Profits up 5.5% on Q1 last year bodes well for a beat of current forecasts as things improve further imo, or broker upgrades.

Just apply the Screwfix model to a lot more of the business - simples ;-)

The mkt likes the trading update, as it should imo.

Give the new management 12 months and this will be a screamer imo.

Reading the press recently, I was expecting far worse than today's statement. Perhaps a lot of the press was mischievous talk to give larger buyers a hope to buy cheaply?
