A useful link here for anyone else looking at the modelling for Manganese:

Re-work your numbers and you'll see that Nayega is a potentially company making asset if/when they get the mining licence. With costs as low as $1-2/Mtu its got great potential. Also phase II development was spending quite a bit of the Phase I cash flow to start production of Ferromanganese alloy which trades at many times the price of Mn concentrate. Its why many of us bought Ferrex.

Ed.

"Metal Bulletin’s index price for 38% manganese ore, fob Port Elizabeth fell 8 cents to $3.68 per mtu. Metal Bulletin’s index price for 44% manganese ore, cif China, fell 6 cents to $5.42 per mtu."

I see where you're going wrong now, you're thinking metric tonne units are Mt! An MTU is 10kg. Manganese concentrate is closer to $400/tn or around $4/Mtu.

Ed.

Any views on the economics of the Manganese project? 250KT per annum doesn't seem worth it unless I've made a mistake. I'm getting $500k/year profit only?

Edit - I had made a mistake it is 25,000,000 MTU (MTU = 10kg, not a metric tonne!)

Its best to focus on the high grade highly commercial vein style stuff first, we've already an intersect with over 1 Oz/tn. There'll be more of those to come out of Pilbara too, I've no doubt, just looking at their presentation shows the mulitple high grade discoveries on their acreage. CAI have more than enough to focus on with the high grade Vein mineralisation first, then they can check their acreage for conglomerate style gold. I don't think anyone is gonna be disappointed by more drilling on the known high grade targets. Focus needs to be on reserves and feasibility and getting the rest of those performance shares. Once we have goodness knows now many Oz after CAI complete the next round of drilling Dave can go willy nilly after that.

Who knows perhaps things will cool off enough in Togo for us to start digging up some Manganese too.

Regards,
Ed.
