Touche!!! Lol Rob - Rec'd. V good. Sorry, I did feel bad after pressing the "post button". (Not too much though) Perhaps a little harsh hehe Always respect one's elders and you do have my respect.Don't worry about those coins melting or the mess on the valour in your brand new E class when you sit down. Or maybe it's a modern Jag? (I mean rover) They will soon reshape and you will be able to eat them again and I promise they will be even tastier. As long as it's a real chocolate orange and not a Lidl import version. Stick to Fry's, Cadbury's and Lindt lolI'll get you buying at the right time. The blue dot has yet to appear. Read this though.... Frightening...the sheer manipulation is wild..

Ok Aviator will just have to keep taking the cod liver oil capsules so I can shuffle along with my walking frame to the common room (in the retirement home for burnt out Aim investors) to where the magic tv is so I can keep an I eye on this bitty coin the youngsters keep on about.

Apparently its a like the chocolate coins you can get at Christmas but can melt quicker, ha chocolate coins when I was young you were lucky if you got a orange in a sock that's is if you had socks….sorry what were we talking about young man?

Topicel,

You are, yet again, mistaken in your interpretation of my thoughts. I well understood your original post, and the meaning behind it. HOWEVER, I chose to answer the question that you specifically asked. It was a carefree, flippant response. I have nothing whatsoever against others making money - at least legally, via whatever method suits them.

Ps I'm too cynical. The majority of cryptos just like aim shares are utter sh2te run by CEOs who only care about dumping their own holdings and coin burns at the right time, so in many ways actually worse than aim BUT I'm talking the blue chips of that space here. You know that some central banks already using crypto? Got to ask why.As for the Fed - a private institution. As for the UK gov - a private ltd company. Don't get me started........Lol You're a good man Rob...easy to tell. Just don't dismisss anything so flippantly is all I'd say. (Humbly? Lol )

Rob, I hope this doesn't appear rude as its not my intention but I can tell you are perhaps in close to retirement/ retirement age bracket? Plenty of wisdom clearly but perhaps a little blinkered with what has come before and what is ahead. I see this regularly with IFAs these days too. They hate it as they don't understand or want to understand it. Comfort zone is fine and I respect that but a few statements there are just totally and utterly inaccurate. These companies don't "hedge bets". Goldman are perhaps more astute than you give credit for too. Corrupt? Yeah sure but what's new there on the street...Crypto isn't going away Rob. You'll see matey.....

If you believe hindsight works then feel free to use it Goatie.

Only you are offering that as a comment so perhaps you have the gift? You certainly know how to get your knickers in a twist over simple realities.

Kefi has been a bad investment. Bitcoin has been a stellar investment. Sadly, it isn't the other way around and I and you have to live with it, understanding neither.

Stuff happens, apparently.

Which makes you a worry for a fellow Kefi investor...I am only interested in making my investments a success, which means profitable.

If I had put the same into Bitcoin at the same times as I did (and instead of) Bitcoin, then the difference is so startling as to be beyond my small ambition (which was 5p, if you recall). That is indisputable.

You wrote that you had no interest in Bitcoin and that is fine but was not what I said. I said, and you didn't understand, that it was a very good thing for anyone to have done. If they were investing to make money...

Why you continue digging a hole by blaming my lack of comprehension when you were replying - misguidedly - to my post in the first place, is beyond me. If I get 5p ever out of Kefi I'll be long gone so we won't have to misunderstand each other again.

I suggest you read what i actually wrote. Your comprehension of the written word leaves a little to be desired it seems.

My children/grandchildren will, I'm sure, be grateful for whatever passes to them on my demise. However, I hope that I am forced to improve my knowledge of Inheritance Tax in the not too distant future. I am not rich, and never wished to be so. If it happens, it happens.

As for your comment which originated this discussion, you asked the the question 'Who here wouldn't.......'. My response was purely a natural one, and not intended to cause controversy. My sentiments regarding bitcoin are totally unaffected by their worth. Just not interested.

Aviator Goldman Sachs the vampire squid will sell anything there’s any demand for temporary or not, PayPal will hedge its bets and will happily go along with the central bank coinage when it comes along EBay ditto. As for the Davos crowd they are already getting ready for universal basic income you think they are going to sort through the thousands of digital currencies and pick one, no they will go with central bank currencies as they are all about control even when it’s not possible or advantageous to control something.

Agree that things are in crisis and only going to get worse buts that’s when government and banks can get away with more as “emergency measures”.
P.s respect your opinion as well just you are not as cynical as me yet!

Tops,

It seems as if you may always use hindsight when planning investments - is that correct?

And a solar flare of them pesky Russians dropping a leccy bomb? What then Belfast?

The governments will run it and run us all at the same time. Not for me, but I can't stop it. Anyway, I'm a Kefi investor so I'll pay for everything with those shares...

The kids will be pleased ;)

How does paying for something with crypto work. Does the price of goods and services fluctuate on a daily basis, or do you pay 20% more today as currency falls than you did yesterday?

Rob, they will adopt and ARE adopting as they realise it's actually the future - this is the thing. I have utmost respect for your posts and views but to to state so confidently they will pull the rug imho is not only very short sighted but unwise. Keynes in effect had a100 year plan that has run out. Davos have now set the agenda for the crypto roll in quite fervently. Why would PayPal, Goldman and eBay be adopting? The banks are crooked and failing as is the government rhetoric and agenda. Debt crisis is an understatement. This is nothing new but more and more obvious as the weeks run by Crypto will eventually stabilize the world not hinder. By the time my youngest children are adults everything will be crypto phone payments. The banks and governments will adopt but will have missed the large gains early. We are still very early in the space. Remember the dotcom bubble and the comoaniest that survives after. Namely Amazon! Internet 2.0 enabling easy and secure payments equals no brainer

I will continue to hold as we are I hope no more than a few weeks away from potentially transformational news...which if it happens will see Kefi multibag quickly imho...of course to do so will require Kefi/Harry/BOD to finally deliver and regrettably his/their track record is poor...still I see it as a good asymmetric bet with huge potential upside versus limited downside even if further slightly delayed

Guess I am getting old so do not understand everything tech based automatically so I can understand someone not investing in something they know nothing about. However understand banks and governments more and they will eventually pull the rug out from Bitcoin and other digital currencies as they do not want the competition. Weaker their own currencies become the more incentive they are going to have to do so.

Probably has not been that urgent up to now as it has been useful for them to absorb money that would otherwise go into gold and silver. Also digital currencies have paved the way for central bank digital currencies. How often if the the chance of more control is dangled in front of banks and governments do they turn the chance down?
