29/8/2021 12:20 | Hi Estseon, it is a rare moment indeed when I can offer any counter argument to one of your posts.. The algorithms on Setssq are preset. ie they were built into the software on creation. It's an incredibly clever system. I and a team of mathematicians spent 18 months backtesting thousands of charts to aid me to come up with a set of lines that I could apply. These are not standard fibbonaci or anything that has been seen before btw. Many have seem them work recently on Kod and Sres to call the exact tops and bottoms. You will notice a series of autobot trades that sometimes people think are just small trades. Indeed they are bot trades. Of course you are correct in that during periods of lack of news flow, many of the 'trading' herd of course sell and those sells in turn influence price to the negative. It is the system however that dictates where the price hits with other factors such as volumes/ number of days etc.. There is also an argument that you imply regarding "placebo" effect of some ratios. I don't doubt it these days and they certainly have also helped me over the years. However, when you bring the likes of Gann into the equation it really starts to get interesting. Not only did he use a unique set of angles but also astrology. I will leave you with something to ponder about..Dow Cycles into 202220 yrs from 2002 Low = 202240 yrs from 1982 Low = 202260 yrs from 1962 Low = 202280 yrs from 1942 Low = 202290 yrs from 1932 Low = 2022126 yrs from 1896 ATL = 2022 | theaviator
29/8/2021 11:45 | Aviator, more recent investors might be influenced by statistical predictions based on herd behaviour, which is what the charts reflect including the algorithms, but long-term holders are likely to just grind their teeth, murmour some satanic oaths and wait for the other side of the autumn equinox. The price might move towards self-fulfillment of the chart predictions but most LTHs will either hold grimly on or, if they have the cash and can stomach increased exposure, they will exploit the low prices predicted to make further investment. I set little store on the 'average' price of acquisition. In my mind's eye, I view each acquisition as a new investment when considering whether to transact. If the price flags further and plumbs 1.5p or below, there would be a reasonable chance of a profit of double the investment within 2 months. There is little point in appraising overall exposure because that is now way OTT at present anyway. The issue for me would be whether to risk further cash in the market. In the meantime, there are the dregs of the summer that only partially happened still to enjoy and the coming winter season could be grim. | ![]() estseon

28/8/2021 16:33 | Theaviator, I too like fast cars, but am no longer capable of driving one. In my garage, I have a 1996 BMW 540 fully loaded manual, that i can no longer drive as the condition of my left leg precludes it. 150 mph plus easily. It redlines at 6000 rpm, and is, I believe capable of 185 mph. It is still in excellent condition (just 117K on the clock), but I can only drive automatics now, and I use a 2000cc Merc for this. I am keeping the BMW as a classic car for my offspring - manual 540's are a rare beast, the vast majority are automatics. Enjoy your cars. | ![]() scrappycat
28/8/2021 16:01 | This may or may not be helpful, SC. It broke the triangle as you see to the downside. Gann lined the white and green especially. Personally I don't like the downside broken which imvho brings in the lower white/yellow. We will see but it gives people an option especially the ones who consider averaging down. All the very best and credit to you for keeping us safe in the skies. https://ibb.co/Jy4Fq | theaviator
28/8/2021 15:51 | I'm terrified of heights. Fast cars yes, aeroplanes.....I'd rather be driven lol | theaviator
28/8/2021 14:33 | Theaviator, I started off with trading, many years ago, but nave, over the years, chosen to back my judgement without the continual need to verify the sp, and behaviour of my choices. In my experience, charts are not always right in the short term. In the long term, they are certainly a good indicator of what is likely to happen, and I respect your views on this. You have every right to think what you will, and air your opinions on these boards. It seems you have been successful in your choice of trading stance. Well done to you. By the way, I too was an aviator for many years. | ![]() scrappycat
28/8/2021 13:56 | WD Gann had a 94% success rate with charts. Does that strike you as being odd? Sorry, but I'm of the old school variety and not into the habit of ramping people in when I truly believe their I vestment will lose money. Call that whatever you like Sir. | theaviator
28/8/2021 13:51 | I've made my life from charts and done rather well so maybe am not such a procrastinator?! | theaviator
28/8/2021 13:50 | Algos goatherd, algos. You got to know where they live ;) | theaviator
28/8/2021 13:20 | The aviator, I disagree. You are not calling it "as it is"; you are calling it as you think it might be. I presume using charts - which are dubious prognosticators at best. | ![]() goatherd
28/8/2021 09:54 | There's a little more integrity calling it as it is, than the mindless ramperoonies on here. | theaviator
