Analysts at Canaccord Genuity raised their target price on professional services business K3 Capital from 398.0p to 452.0p today, reiterating its 'buy' rating.

Ah, ok. Thanks. I just put that move down to typical price fluctuation. Never at all considered it might mean a fund raise but I'll keep that in mind.

price dropped 12% quite suddenly from an uptrend - so I made the assumption - thought if it was a fund raise it might have been at 300 so I sat and waited and missed the boat!

Alternatively, if it is heading towards 640, I might keep adding on the way up, which would still see good returns without having to suffer through too many red days

300 would be nice though.

sdmbot, if I were you I wouldn't wait for a drop to 300p. It's on deserved move up now and will reach 400p before 300p I believe.

Does the chart say a fund-raise is on the cards?

Simply Wall Street values K3C as 641p. "An Intrinsic Calculation For K3 Capital Group PLC (LON:K3C) Suggests It's 49% Undervalued". I continue to top up when the share price is nearer 300p than 400p.

The recent price drop has been disappointing but I've just topped up again at these prices as think the long term outlook is excellent.

This is a well-run fast-growing company (details on 5 recent acquisitions in the link) that specialises in mergers and acquisitions so they are confident that they'll get the new companies integrated quickly and benefit from the increased income from here on. Having said that, they probably should ease off on expansion for now and consolidate this year. With solid growth they should be looking to move to the main market from AIM in the next 1-2 years as their regulatory compliance should be top notch.

My two main concerns are essentially:

- Too many bolt-ons in Bolton: Their ability to execute with various disparate service based businesses, with different profiles and different structures.

- Long tail issues: With so many transactions revolving around buying and selling businesses and now around insolvency, restructuring (Quantumma), specialist tax and forensic (Randd & Intax) what are the long term risks - potential for being sued. How do they mitigate against this.

So many growth through acquisition plays have gone badly wrong in the past, especially in the services sector, it's difficult not to be wary.

Having said all that, I'm a long term holder and think that John especially seems like a very competent pair of hands.

If it slips beneath £3.00 I'd be looking to ad more.
