Curious to know what one and two are, as I've been extremely lucky to have been in JDG since the 140s?

JDG are about the third or fourth best performers in all our companies that have presented at Mello. We have a terrific record and David Cicurel is certainly one of the most popular presenters and has been about five times to Beckenham over the years.

When the Scientifica deal was done the share price was £12.80 so raising the money for it at £16.25 should be seen as a huge positive success even if we miss out as private investors. It was oversubscribed

It shows the huge appetite to come in and back DC and the team and is very positive so long as they are able to continue putting these deals together. The ability to have this funding almost on tap shows potential sellers that DC is the man to come to

In fact getting it away at (what may be!) the top of the market is itself very creditable on management.

I think we need to look at today's placing in the context of the previous placing, which was in May-12 at at price of £6.00/share.

Whilst it would be nice to have a rights issue, or at least a placing a little near the current SP, a quick clean placing like this enables management to focus its attention on building value for shareholding which is certainly something it has consistently delivered over the last several years.

The Directors of Judges Scientific plc are pleased to announce that the Company has raised £8.125 million (before expenses) through a placing (the "Placing") of 500,000 new ordinary shares of 5p (the "Placing Shares") at a price of 1625p (the "Placing Price") per Placing Share. The Placing, which was substantially oversubscribed, involved existing and several new institutional investors together with some private investors.


All sounds positive and logical, and while I understand the reasons I do dislike the fact that there are privelidged and non priveliged private investors. As bad as the recent RMG placing.

Very quiet and relaxed board here as usual. Thought was a decent statement with implications that Scientifica should be a good source of growth to come.

The Company advises that the interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2013 will be announced on Thursday 26 September 2013.

Not much stock about. I could only get a quote to buy 50, but I got a quote (£16.20) to sell 6000.
