It is hardly pleasant to go round trashing others , someone said do not do unto others. I do not mean to persist as he does, but thought his co investors ought to know what kind of slippery customer you have

"Storage should be a vital component."

Yes it should - and the Royal Academy of Engineering is advising the government that liquid air is the best route to it ..............

Normally their trading updates give a bit more detail than was included on the 27th June.

So may be they have held back that detail for their normal announcement.

Each of the last two years there was an H1 trading statement on 18-Jul. Given the trading related comments included in the RNS of 27-Jun-13, is anybody still expecting an update in the next few days or will the next update be the H1 results in late September?

Cheers, Martin

No write up in SCSW this month, but while discussing the downturn at AND and other similar company's makes the comment that 'there is no read across to JDG which says trading is robust'.

"SCSW have revised there Royal Baby price target to £14"

Well, that didn't take long to get smashed!

Ta Cornish, it was actually your post from earlier in the year I'd latched on to. As for £20 IMO may take a little while but would hardly be a surprise - conscious with the acquistion on a PE of 6 just had the overall PE reduced down which with a successful intergration can see going back up again.

SCSW have revised there Royal Baby price target to £14. The £10 target was cleared with ease so let's hope this one will be as well.

Alpha, it was SCSW who asked in May 2012, which comes first a royal baby or £10 a share. Clearly that was smashed a while ago. I am looking forward to £20 now, but perhaps I'm getting a bit carried away, as I've never had a twenty bagger.

Love this company, great to see someone with the objectivity to get acquisitions on terms they want and have the discipline to turn others away. Normally get worried about someone trying to boost their ego or grow large to justify giving themselves a large paypacket.
No issues here, class act. Someone mentioned a £14 royal baby target a while back, target hit!

There are lots of potential deals but DC is very strict on the terms and multiples that will be paid so a deal can seemingly come from nowhere but the vast majority of owners will know where JDG are placed and it is just a matter of situation, change of circumstance or price coming in at the right level and then Judges act quick and are well known to be able to complete the deal.

I am sure there will be more.

By just sticking with the sectors that they are in (microscoprocy, material analysis, etc) I can see 20-30 UK companies that would fit the JDG bill & would not see any dearth of targets till £100m of annual revenues has well passed.

There's no need to overstretch the management geographically or culturally yet.

Judges have always indicated there are a very large number of potential targets, it's just getting the right one at the right price.

I would be very surprised if they looked overseas

I wonder how many of these instrument companies there are left in the UK of the size now needed by Judges. Does anyone think they may need to start looking abroad at some stage ?

In fairness Guy Naggar was in here well before the rest of us. He was one of the early backers of Judges but has naturally been off the radar of most for a number of years.

So Guy Naggar is "back from the dead" after the Dawnay, Day debacle? Still, a shrewdie, and sees what we see at Judges! Well done, DC. Good to see the business continuing to grow without shareholder dilution, by judicious (pun intended!) reinvestment of our healthy cashflow.

Cheers,

Mark
