IMO, JLP is a long way from reaching its 'full potential'. Leon announced the advent of new technology recently, making for more efficient processing, and the impetus toward a greener planet means that the world is their oyster. Loads more money printing presses to come.

Don't forget the Zambian government granted Jubilee the licences for Kabwe after Leon had many meetings with them and convinced them Jubilee is the best company for cleaning up the polluted area's and making safe for local residents.

As for countries without any health & safety, in the UK many many people are dying earlier than need be and suffering due to working with asbestos over 40 years ago, without any health and safety at the time of working.

Plus many people died or caused fires from doing their own electric installations at home without any experience so wiring sockets etc., by incorrectly wiring them, so causing people to get electrocuted or causing fires, so now we have laws which require qualified electricians to give a certificate for any work done. So when you sell your house you have to show those certificates to the buyers solicitor. The same for any gas installations and any major building work.

Many people have died in the past and houses burnt down due to people without any training installing gas appliances themselves. Now you have to have a qualified gas engineer to install plus get a certificate to show to anyone you sell your property too...

i understand health and safety in the mining sector..but in the everyday world health and safety is ruining everyday living for most people..its gone way to far..i live in vietnam and part of the reason life is better there is because there is no real health and safety..and i dont know if any of you can remember what this is.but they use this thing called common sense its amazing..people actually think for themselves,,i think we should incorporate this in the west

I think you will find every mine in SA and the world operates a slightly flexible health and safety policy. Very sad but true i'm affraid.

Health and safety down my local building site is non existent ffs!.
