As usual we rely on picking the bones out of other companies guidance for a clue as to whats going on in the industry. Tharisa's Q1 update helps a bit.

Market update

Our co-product business model has benefited from record PGM prices, with the average PGM contained metal basket price for the quarter at US$1 406/oz (ZAR20 745/oz), with palladium and rhodium continuing to be the main driver of the increased basket price.

The average chrome price received for the quarter was US$145/t with current spot trading at US$133/t, levels the Company believes are unsustainable in the long-term, but expectations are for chrome concentrate prices to remain at these levels during the current quarter, with some potential for improvement into the third quarter.

You say that like Colin or Leon really care how long you have been here for!
They dont care, your shares will just get churned onto the next punter.

2020 should be the year though, surely.

Morning
Someone had a 1mil nibble of jlp for breakfast yesterday which gave it the early boost. Will the next set of figures see a possible rerate or are we destined for the slow upward grind at least until Plat breaks 1000$/oz.

Looks like the latter at the mo. Has the money been well spent?

Daz,

i will stick to my method as it allways matches up with the companies figures in the financial reports.

Try working out the price for one ounce.

Someone point them in the direction of JLP. We need to make more of green credentials.

Thanks for the reply Bullster. Another question if I may

If I multiply the proportion of each metal in 2,500 oz by the current price, I get a figure of around $5,000, as below
Metal Ratio Price per oz Revenue
Platinum 49% 965 1.18
Palladium 40% 2097 2.10
Rhodium 9% 7300 1.64
Gold 2% 1552 0.08
Total 5.00

You must be doing something different in your calculation, as your final figure is only 40%. Are you assigning a proportion of the revenue to JLP or something like that?

Bullster’s figures are based on data in the public domain, combined with educated insight, and I am very thankful for his contribution. Certitude is something else. It has been said that I lack certitude, but I highly doubt that! Steve Jobs once said that his company was ‘phoney’ – some took it the wrong way and missed an investment opportunity. JLP is now a growth play – best not miss this one?

Daz,

For a start, prill splits are not fixed, they alter dependant on the various seams/reefs the material is extracted.
The true prill split will only be known after the refining stage, when platinum ,palladium and rhodium etc. are separated.

There are specific tables published defining prill splits dependent on region and seam, i devised my prill split from the tables.

Hope that answers your question.

Bullster,

With regards to post 17761, how did you arrive at the split of the basket PGM's at Inyoni of
Platinum 49%
Palladium 40%
Rhodium 9%
Gold 2%

out of interest?

homeytheclown,

We only have earnings figures for INYONI, of which my examples are.

Windsor pgms are an unknown value, as yet.

"GBP 3.38 million operational earnings in Q3-2019", equates to all operations, surely.
