gaviar. Thanks for that info. Its a shame Marlborough will continue to be a brake as the share price rises as their fund bumps up against their 4% threshold.

Some of the recent selling may have been by Marlborough Nano Cap fund, who have apparently recently reduced their holding by about £1.5m by my rough working out, which is about 12m shares.
No need to panic, they had a weighting of 3.8% of fund (£243m), now reduced to 3.2%, so they may have needed to reduce their holding (as it was close to 4%) in anticipation of future price increases and corresponding increase in weighting. They shouldn't need to sell any more until price gets to more like 16p when they may need to reduce some more. It's still their top holding.

Platinum rallied to a six-year high on bets that a recovery in industrial demand and stricter emissions rules will tighten supply of the metal used to curb pollution from cars and trucks.

The commodity has been trading at a big discount to sister-metal palladium, which is also used primarily in catalytic converters. The price disparity between the two, as well as tougher regulations on emissions, has raised expectations that platinum will see greater use.

The inverse head & shoulders on the chart should take this near 14p in the next week or so and the price of platinum looking like it will go to at least $1,500 in the near future the share price could quite easily be 40p by year end.

PGMs supply, demand to recover to pre-pandemic levels in 2021, says Johnson Matthey

The platinum market remained in a deficit in 2020 despite an 18% fall in gross demand, estimates published in sustainable technologies company Johnson Matthey’s latest 'Platinum Group Metals Market' report

Primary platinum supplies plunged by 20%, owing to processing outages and Covid-19-related mine disruption in South Africa where a large portion of raw material originates.

WPIC says there is a ‘growing market’ for platinum in hydrogen adoption

it is estimated that green hydrogen could supply up to 25% of the world’s energy needs and become a $10-trillion addressable market, says the World Platinum Investment Council (WPIC).

This is underpinned by the recent emergence of strong green-hydrogen-focused national hydrogen strategies, including those announced by Australia, Chile, Germany, the European Union, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain and South Korea.

That 16m will be what stalled progress for the last few weeks. Now that it has printed the share price can move on imo.

I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more but the prospects seem so exciting and the shape of the flag that's forming this month just shouts at me to invest. Just couldn't resist another little 50,000 top up in my ISA

I agree there's been a buyer in the background mopping up all those stale bulls smallish sells, hence the price has stayed firm. But today we see that the sellers have disappeared and mms had no choice but to mark the price up, the buyer probably still looking for more suckers letting their shares go so cheaply.
