Copper could go the same way (doubtful but could still happen).

PS this project will be a long time in the making.

Don't want to be the party pooper, but we had all this when kabwe was announced. The unbelievable amounts of cash that vanadium would throw off! Yet where is the vanadium?

I do like these bigger projects, just wish they would finish one first before moving onto the next.

If the target 25k t of copper cathode per year comes off it will double what was previously targeted for.

Gross profit $2,240/t x 25,000t = $56,000,000. p/a

In contrast, 60,000 oz of pgm's = $60,000,000 gross profit. p/a

Goingforarun,

Yes, all good deals, but pgms are already near target while copper lags behind.

It irks me that the DCM pgms could have saved so much cash outlay and massive dilution.

edit, add $8,00,000 p/a gross profit when DCM begins

W.H. Ireland. (19/06/20 note)

With operating costs (including ore purchase costs) expected to be ~$2/lb copper produced, at capacity producing 14kt/a copper, Sable will have a gross profit of ~$30m at our long-term copper price forecast of $3/lb.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Copper tailings 150,000,000t @ grade 0.35%. (you always lose some copper in processing, so 0.34% copper) = 510,000t of copper cathode

Sable operating cost $2/lb or $4,480/t
Gross profit $1/lb or $2,240/t x 510,000t = $1,142,400,000

I am not sure if W.H.Ireland has included our 60% profit from concentrate sales in the Sable $2/lb operating costs.

Not to mention cobalt profits.

So the brokers note mentions project roan and project elephant. Not heard Leon mention those, brokers getting more info that use mortals as usual.

What's persuading people to sell at less than 4p? While the latest RNS makes good reading, are there political factors inducing people to sell? Has JLP management taken such steps as are possible to protect itself from the rampant corruption in southern Africa?
