12/9/2016 15:17 | finally got going, lets see if the chart can form a bowl over the next few months. WJ. | w1ndjammer
12/9/2016 11:31 | SP sinking as usual - market overall is down and evidently no one is especially excited about Crystal Amber's noise. I reckon it'll take 'em months to get a succession plan together (for replacing AH) and find someone to take the jpr poisoned chalice. Can you imagine the brief for incoming chief exec: a great opportunity to lead the media equivalent of Encyclopedia Britannica or kodak film down the short cul-de-sac to oblivion, plus find a finance director whose long-term project is to get £180m or thereabouts, in place, ready for the bond payback in two years time. Am sure it can be done, especially if the business is making £40m in 2018, but that is the big question. What will the next step-down in profits look like? The lower it goes, the less likely it is that the debt can be refinanced. November is traditionally a time for an update from jpr. The i continues to sell out every day - I can never find one after 5pm. However, I noticed the number of pages of advertising had almost halved in the copy I bought last week. The next profit number points the way to the future - either salvation or fractions of a penny. Brexit couldn't have come at a worse time for jpr; if it causes a recession (minor or major) it'll be the last nail in the coffin. I'm seeing Newsquest as the only hope and since there's been nothing from them and they seem to be having plenty of problems digesting recent acquisitions, I don't think they're coming to our rescue. | stdyeddy
11/9/2016 20:52 | My guess is that the meeting will be about(I) cash flow and(ii) the failure to sell titles for anything remotely near book valuation. | lord c.
11/9/2016 19:39 | That said eddy just for fun will we see a rise in the share price ?tomorrow ! | dazzaa
11/9/2016 15:32 | They've lost 80% of their investment so far. If they're meeting with the chairman it's to get rid of Ashley. What's interesting here though, is that as a small major shareholder, they're being left out of discussions. Unless this is just the polite public build-up to the board telling Ashley that it's time to get the cardboard box out and it's all Crystal Amber's fault. | stdyeddy
11/9/2016 13:08 | Yes, I saw this. My thoughts are that I assume JP have already had talks with their other institutional larger investors, but not yet with CA. | mrx9000
11/9/2016 12:53 | Well some news reported in S/T may bring some joy with Crystal Amber meeting the chairman of JP this week so is it time eddy to pile in?Mrx your thoughts too please. | dazzaa

06/9/2016 21:58 | Volume is pitiful but MM know this has to move up IMO hence the 9 pence Ask for any reasonable amount - silence since the Interims does not help - having to go through ISDX is telling and plenty of news in the pipeline to come (from the Interims). Suspect soon and know MM are short of stock. Couple of grand and a punt is telling - not many in the free float if you do your research - which you may have - point is I have a feeling this is set to rise and on news dependent it will rise fast IMO. Depending of course what that is - if you have done your research and possibilities you will have more than an idea. Just wish I had the inside track like all PIs - only the board who obviously cannot buy - sensitive information and those close to the action know. Think the lowest volume in history in value of trades - but may be wrong with your purchase via ISDX. Looking at the Gannett Newsquest history - I would not be surprised after a fair amount of research into the possibility - MM may suspect a move up but obviously not in the public domain until and IF it is - which is a good fit and on all honesty do not think it is a long shot - around now or never if JPR sort the debt and bond buy back at a heavy discount - it may move onwards and upwards and a re- rate in the short term - looking at their purchases they do not seem at all concerned taking on debt with the obvious synergies - MR X - your view I think is a real possibility being muted before a merger of sorts for synergies but Trinity is out on Monopolies and Mergers but Newsquest certainly isn't - amazed the market is not thinking that way - perhaps only on news and not prior speculation as perhaps in the past - certainly the backing of the Major Institutions stated by AH in the FT interview regarding the strategy and bond buybacks perhaps is telling. Time will tell - amazing this is the only real active thread - and not that active lol. Good sign perhaps -.time as ever will tell. | mattab
06/9/2016 20:09 | What do you think mrx? | dazzaa
06/9/2016 16:03 | Obviously if this is the bottom, who knows, you would expect the news to be bad....and it sure is!! If it was good news then we wouldn't be down here. For the sake of a couple of grand this looked worth a punt at least. If this gets over 9p then something is going on or people think it is. | bikwik
06/9/2016 15:56 | Just bought 25,000 at 8.4p. Went through on ISDX which is always annoying, but there we are! | bikwik

31/8/2016 14:39 | Whatever happens currently shareholders are last to get anything here | mali7
31/8/2016 09:26 | Debt for Equity swap? Bond Holders effectively own this IMO and they won't be making any money. It would take some serious money raising on any sell offs for this company to continue in it's current form, but that would only buy more employment time IMO. | nick rubens
30/8/2016 21:32 | As it goes lower & lower time for another share consolidation!....no or just maybe this could another Sir Phillip Green style deal...sold for £1 to Trinity Mirror... | diku
30/8/2016 20:40 | No Mali 7 I don't see many companies who earn circa £40 m profit a year evaporate into the ether, what false hopes? I agree that its share price is low and likely to be lower in the short term but history / experience of this share and its backers they are here for the longterm, in terms of the debt, wouldn't TM just love that pension deficit, the sale of their peripheral assets will if sensibly used, reduce again the running costs ie interest payments, assume that profit in coming years will be reduced to say around £30m until digital strikes a reasonable balance (someone will surely find a way to make it pay), with subsequent interest payments reduced pro-rata that is not a scenario of a company on its knees. Eddy rightly mentions about the the bond maturity, personally I take the view that's better left until early next year, there is too much bubbling away here to make any real call on foretelling events and it is in 2019 Oh eddy if only we had left this share well alone! | dazzaa
30/8/2016 16:22 | Guys don't be on false hopes, hope it survives but most likely 1p then BK...seen so many of these | mali7 |
