74,209,676 shares in issue, so 6,296,718 is 8.48%, unless the website figures are wrong.

Interesting.

Must be a sale from 1 institution to another I would have thought.

Wonder who is buying & who is selling.

I guess we'll know soon enough. They will have RNS I would have thought.

it's over 8%. The website seems to be almost three years out of date on significant shareholders, but less than 4% is unaccounted for by the two listed, though the beneficial holders behind the nominee are unclear (to me).

Another good green investment opportunity: HEGY

RNS Number : 2607J
Helius Energy Plc
26 March 2010

Date: 26 March 2010

For Immediate Release

Consent Granted for Avonmouth Biomass Power Plant

Helius Energy plc, the company established to develop, install and operate
biomass fired renewable electricity generation plants, welcomes today's consent,
under Section 36 of The Electricity Act 1989, by the Department for Energy and
Climate Change, for the construction of a 100MWe biomass-fuelled electricity
generating station located at Avonmouth Dock, on the Bristol Channel.

The power station will produce enough renewable electricity for around 200,000
homes, and will save over 720,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year when compared
to a similarly sized coal-fired power station. The electricity produced at the
plant will be fed into the local electricity grid, and Helius has already
secured grid access rights.

Dr Adrian Bowles, CEO of Helius Energy, welcomed the news, saying:

"We are pleased that the Avonmouth project has been granted consent by the
Secretary of State and we look forward to producing renewable electricity from
sustainably sourced biomass in Bristol. This consent builds on the success of
our projects at Stallingborough and Rothes and will enable Helius Energy to play
a crucial part in delivering a future energy supply which is reliable, renewable
and sustainable."

The biomass power plant will require up to 850,000 tonnes of sustainably sourced
feedstock each year, primarily wood-based material. Construction of the plant is
expected to start following conclusion of the engineering procurement programme.

I`m looking for much nearer £2 and maybe higher. We already know H2 Eps was at least 9.5p,they`ve just agreed to buy the 49% of the EU operation that they do not own.I think 2010 EPS will come in at well above 20p

How will the h/k market value jhl.

JHL competes in the market with solarfun, ja solar and ceeg nanjing.
Ceeg nanjing appears to be state owned. Solarfun and ja solar are both nasdaq listed and have forward pe's of 10.2 and 10.8 , according to zachs estimates.

HK valuations are lower on average than nasdaq.
Hanson westhouse are forecasting 18p earnings for 2010, which gives a forward pe of 5.2, it would seem to have scope for a 50% + re-rating.

Would anyone have access to the evolution china brokers note.

I sold out of most of my JHL @ about 42p when the managers were misbehaving :0( but there's an interesting bit on the Emerging Metals EML thread on iii by singlikeabird at 10.18 today:

"With thanks to Drag100 who posted this on an Australian bulletin board

Could there have been a reciprocal deal arrangement between Emerging Metals and Itochu??? - some speculative thinking.

Interview with Jim Mellon

You are backing solar power and have been quoted as saying, "Solar is genuinely clean, it ticks all sorts of zeitgeist boxes. Within five years, solar power will be as cheap as oil and gas without the subsidy … it will be bigger than the internet in five years." Emerging Metals Ltd was set up as a vehicle to invest in materials that are used in solar panels but its only major investment so far has been the (admittedly spectacularly successful) stake in the Rossing South uranium mine. Is this because you are losing faith in the solar future?

No, I am just as keen on solar power. The potential of the Rossing South mine is staggering and we seized the opportunity to invest in it. When Emerging Metals realises its stake one way or another we will refocus on solar investments.

Note: Emerging Metals specialises in metals (germanium and gallium) used in the next generation of solar panels.

Also these comments from Jim Mellon:

"In fact, by simply "spattering" the semiconductor material on the panel, as Jim Mellon, author of The Top Ten Investments for the Next Ten Years puts it, the outlay of semiconductor material is reduced from 200 microns to less then ten per layer of film. The cost savings are immense, and the efficiencies should continue to rise more or less in line with Moore's Law – doubling every 18 months, says Mellon. And there's similar good news on another solar technology: thermal power plants. These aren't new – one was built in the Mojave Desert during the 1980s – but they could soon match coal and oil for price."

So what does this all have to do with Itochu?? Well, Itochu has the largest solar distribution network in US and has made number of strategic investments by acquiring key distributors and solutions providers in this area across the world over the last few years. It may be worth reading these:"

does not seem to attract much buying over £1. must be a psychological thing.

always amazed by the wide spread on this stock which does not encourage trading + it moves up and down very quickly on low volume.

Evaluate-Completely agree.H2 is going to be stellar we know that for a fact. The only questions are ,how good?,and can they continue that performance into 2010?Well from the announcement there is a very strong hint that they are, and,as such ,that makes the share price cheap irrespective of any HK listing.IMO these could well double once listed in HK
ssvsjs-great,well reasoned one liner,why not say 10p?
