Buyer wanted to accelerate the purchase somewhat today and still there. Reckon picked up about 2%/2.5% of the Company in the last week. More rises ahead if its an oiler. I like looking on the bright side!

Jts146, I’m sure I read earlier on the thread that you are a holder of JOG stock. If so I assume only in a small way.

The time you are devoting here is appreciated but why do you think your opinion is not impressing buyers?

One view I take is that the recent award of options to non director level management was made just in case a low ball offer were to be presented by a predator.

The assets JOG now holds are enormous and are growing rapidly as the oil price increases on a daily basis. Do remember that big oil normally swallows exploration companies.

I fully expect that to occur here.

My views on the basin.. since you asked and ive already walked the dog.. if you don't like my pebble polisher viewpoint don't read it and get yourself all worked up.

it's a basin ultimately in decline although a range of sizeable projects have kept things propped up nicely (Mariner/Kraken/Catcher/Clair & numerous small subsea tie-in affairs) There's now limited options unless the explorers get going and find something meaty. But it's not a competitive area to spend exploration dosh all the 'big humps' as they say are drilled offshore UK. There's no more mountains to be found in this world they've all been spotted long ago. What's left is either very small or perhaps bigger but extremely unlikely to result in a useful find due to the inability to image an oil migration pathway, evidence of no reservoir seal, geological reasoning of no sand within the mountain etc . Look at what is going on in South America, follow the money. Humps aplenty and they're just getting going. Step through the majors in NS and look at their strategies it's a crystal clear.

The minnows are interested in NS oil because they can become sizeable quick with a nice transaction and get running room of a good decade of declining production bar the odd in field mop up well & shareholders will make there money back at a superb return in that time. Majors give a good deal - they have to price it at what the market will pay to get out to allow them to deploy capital elsewhere.

What happens down the way is probably a dying industry (sorry young 'uns) with a geographical shift (the way of coal, still plenty made in "Shina") other regions are up and coming with the running room needed and will be less scrupulous about their dirty image. If there was a material project in NS then maybe an equinor type could bite although it mightnt fit with portfolio choices so even then perhaps not. They would not be needing joil to point them to it at any rate.

I'll eat my cap if a major sniffs and doesnt run a freight train through their numbers backed by their 'experts'. An independent - perhaps too likely to see through the charade but i cant speak for them. The dosh and risk appetite needed will be large. Slide 10 - i had to look it up. just spotted they appear to show all imagined production in red. Are they expecting to flog the full biscuit.

I might be wrong as some have suggested only time can know.

Genuine question for JTs: What other options are availale to NS oil operators supposing that they want to keep NS operations going? They will need to supliment thier portfolios to offset the decline shown in slide 10 of the presentation. I am sure there are other options (of 33% API or similar) but I am too ignorant to know what they are. If you have a bit of insight into what they might be it would help us all understand how disinterested the mojors are likely to be in aquiring this little parcel.

Nobody disputes that there is no profit for a few years, how can it be if first oil is only scheduled in 2025? Secondly which oil project is not several decades long? Unless you clever boy can tell us how to lift 170million barrels in 2 or 3 years out of the ground?
So you know better what is going on than Management with combined 60 plus years of experience in the Oil and Gas sector, and of course you also know better than the CPR, better than Rockhopper, better than Schlumberger, better than Petrofac and probably another 2 or 3 companies with global experience. If you would have just said that the Oil and Gas sector is a difficult and unpredictable business and that everyone investing in it has to be aware of what they are doing - nobody would disagree. That finding a partner/investor/buyer during any given time is never a guaranteed no matter how good the case is again everyone would agree, its the bloody oil and gas sector and we know that. But banging on about your knowledge which is clearly a bit off course just disqualifies you straight from the start by saying that every expert involved is wrong. So stop trying to fool people and leave it to real experts to decide. Cheers

Nobody’s scuttled anywhere my friend. point is around the long term viability of a supposed multi decade project that even if you believe in it won’t turn a profit for many years. Nobody is disputing that this share will swing about to the glee of you day traders. You really have no idea what you playing with however if we’re discussing the long term result and considering value investing. day trade away I’m sure you know what your doing and can play the swings and maybe an upward trend until it goes pear shaped.
