18/12/2020 09:43 | Jtsouthern Your post 3333 above. You appear to have come here , from nowhere, with a pre-conceived idea that the board of directors are "incompetent or v cleverly misleading outfit". That bodes badly for your balanced assessment of the situation. It is comforting that you agree there is lots of oil just "sat" there so with that, the two competent persons reports , the new 3D seismic followed by the 2020 work done on recovery appraisal, I disagree with your view. Thanks for reminding us we are investing in a very speculative and risky business but if you want surety on your returns perhaps you are in the wrong place. If you have joined the board because you shorted the stock then you made your bed now sleep in it. The chart technicals and indeed the fundamentals suggest you will not be here for long and, likely, you will acquire a very sore backside. JOG have assets of £42 per share and about to go selling and you have shorted it somewhere near £1 per share. Good plan and perhaps more balanced investors would say "not very clever". | mariopeter

18/12/2020 07:56 | Jts: Nice to see an honest and balanced view. High risk and the future for oil is bleak. | leewain
18/12/2020 05:10 | Name calling and baseless price claims.. They don’t have any reserves they have contingent resources | jtsouthern146

17/12/2020 21:30 | Ha good spot. Not all the others however just two. The details are important, ie they are exploratory and not appraisal. Jersey are talking about drilling new accumulations (although not new the North Sea has 00s of known prospects that sensible money hasn’t drilled) with low chance of success due to the fact oil may not be there due to either lack of reservoir, trap, seal or charge, or even if it is lack of commercial quantities or ability to flow. This is v high risk stuff. Basically an exploration play that’s trying to make out of further along by talking platforms but in reality can’t justify the many billions requires due to lack of commercial oil without big downside possibilities. And green platforms at that, such commendable management! | jtsouthern146
17/12/2020 21:11 | jts146, I see you are having a dig on other oil boards as well. I'm quite happy here as Jog will be drilling appraisal wells rather than exploratory wells. I appreciate they now have grand salaries like many other directors and that of course is irritating. Hopefully they will come up with some success. | chessman2
17/12/2020 21:00 | @mariopeter there’s oil all over the North Sea. Oodles of it just sat there. The point is it has to be extractable at a profit. | jtsouthern146
17/12/2020 20:52 | Excellent post jt. Talk the talk but when it comes down to it, promises never delivered | leewain
17/12/2020 19:54 | Giving brownie points to jersey for a green development is laughable. Net zero what? They clearly indicated at an exploration campaign in 2022 with the most likely outcome of zero additional oil so I’m out. you’re giving management a big ‘well done’ for spouting free words about electricity imports to platforms for ‘yet to be discovered oil’ (a technical term). Have you considered that it’s free for Jersey to make these bold statements. Zero effort and a fat salary from your pocket yet you congratulate them? I worked this industry a long time and despite it being decades old i find a lot of green behind a lot of ears here but not much actual green. | jtsouthern146
