05/6/2013 18:58 | We are shortly going to be quantitatively easing into a share price collapse across the board. | gbb483
02/5/2013 14:23 | ... looks like someone spotted the mistake - now they've bombed. | gbb483
01/5/2013 21:52 | Wow, Ex Div today and still they shot up. | gbb483
24/4/2013 15:13 | That is for tenanted pubco's like Punch and Enterprise, gbb483. The Adjudicator will have nothing to do with companies which own and directly manage their own pubs. | jeffian
24/4/2013 15:02 | I guess the threatened interference of an overseer has been seen as a positive influence on the bu5inesses! | gbb483
29/3/2013 14:50 | Strategic error not being the cheapest - that's why people go there! It's hardly for the decor, atmosphere or quality service is it? They're dead in the water if they aren't the cheapest in town imv. My afternoon fish and chips used to cost next to nothing, and now its about 6 quid - not expensive but then again, all considered, not cheap. Plus, they often run out. There's never enough staff. I went last night out of habit - usual curry price for 5 used to be about £25, last night it crept up to £40 with one having scampi since the fish had run out (one won't eat curry), plus a few bits and bobs. It's crept up in price stealthily. I think people like me are now realising while it's still cheapish, it's getting to the stage it's not good value bearing in mind the surroundings, service, etc. If I could short this I would, I think they've lost their way. | pierre oreilly
27/3/2013 13:01 | Wetherspoons New Coffee Service Ask for a coffee at Wetherspoon and you are now given a cup with out a saucer or spoon after you receive your cup of coffee you are expected to queue at a table to help yourself to a saucer a spoon and milk ...If Wetherspoon cannot be bothered to offer an expected service then costumers should ask themselves should they bother to spend money at Wetherspoons... Great helpful and friendly staff | johnwise
27/3/2013 12:14 | recieved a letter today from jdw,s re my complaint 20p rise on beer, nice response but bottom line is "we have stepped away from being the cheapest on the market". | mroalan
21/3/2013 23:09 | One week ago I went into my local Wetherpsoons for my usual Curry and pint deal and the price (with extra onion bhajis) was £7.25. I then had an extra pint of Carlsberg at £2.09 which had gone up last Novemeber from £1.99. Today being a creature of habit, I did the same as last week. My curry and pint plus bhajis had increased to £7.49 - a 3.3% increase, o.k. fair enough. My pint of Carlsberg on other hand had increased to £2.49, a 40p and 19% increase!! Wetherspoon's drink prices are rapidly becoming on a par with some of the local pub prices. Don't know if it was the weather or not, but it was nowhere near as busy as last week. Normally between 6.00 - 8.00 it is extremely busy and sometimes you can't get a table. not so today, I had the pick of tables. | simonh88
21/3/2013 08:51 | talking about inflation, was at Weatherspoons last evening,my real ale has gone up 20p ,the wifes wine is up 40p a bottle, abbots was 220 now 255,ruddles was 139p a pint two years ago ish now 205. | mroalan

15/3/2013 12:12 | new one in our town ( The Regent ) food good, staff good, place good, don't know about the beer yet, only had coffee, I was driving! cannot fault the company some other pub groups should copy them their formula works. | omega1525
15/3/2013 11:23 | I've only been in The Six Templars in Hertford once, and unless they improve the standard of their service I won't be going back. | gbb483
15/3/2013 10:19 | still a great pub,not noticed any difference in my local. | mroalan
15/3/2013 09:58 | "10% increase in revenue"......but 2% fall in Operating Profit. Gross margins have fallen from 8.9% to 8.3%. Looks like JDW are buying business. | jeffian
15/3/2013 07:15 | 10% increase in revenue, looks like everyone is drowning their sorrows. | gbb483
23/10/2012 17:06 | Ex Div tomorrow will see another 8p lopped off. | gbb483
18/10/2012 11:14 | Sold out at just below 500, saw their new menu (same as before but quite a few things removed) which is a cheap black and white card which usually means their going to have to increase prices (cheap to reprint), which is expected given the poor harvest but its not going to be good for business. | tparker
17/9/2012 08:36 | It topped out at 475p, now all the way down to 400p!! | danny murphy
06/9/2012 15:42 | Good luck with that, Danny! | libertine
01/9/2012 15:35 | With the recent high of around the 475p mark and now currently down to 448p. With the Olympics out of the way and the paras to finish next week I expect JWD to lose 6% or so (421p) within the next 2 weeks. After that it should drift to approaching 400p. I think the re-entry point for me will be around the 410p within say the next 3 weeks. After that it should pick up with the run up to Xmas!! | danny murphy
11/7/2012 17:30 | 425p I think that there is more good times to come for JDW, with the Olympics just around the corner business must be good. I think that the share price could easily rise another 6% or so. | danny murphy
11/7/2012 08:40 | LONDON (SHARECAST) - Pub chain JD Wetherspoon said it had been boosted by strong trading around the fortnight of the Jubilee celebrations and during the Euro 2012 championships. The firm said the events had helped push up like-for-like sales by 6.1%, and total sales by 11.9% in the 11 weeks to 8 July 2012. In the year to date, like-for-like sales increased by 3.0%, while overall sales increased by 9.2%, the company said. It expects to report an operating margin of approximately 8.5% before exceptionals in the second half. Wetherspoon said it expected to achieve "a reasonable outcome" for the current financial year. "As previously stated, the main challenges for the company, in this financial year of 53 trading weeks, have been the continuing cost pressures resulting from government legislation, including increases in excise duty, business rates and carbon tax," the company said. | libertine |
