06/5/2020 07:52 | Think this could be a blessing for JD. They have enough presence on the high street | bigboots

01/4/2020 16:08 | Billy.. i thought that they paid a premium for Foot actually ..... it was struggling,,,, and yes i think it will hit the 3's again.... | gripfit
01/4/2020 15:22 | Don't think it will be that massive. Is this dropping the the 3s? | billbailey1
01/4/2020 10:26 | if they have to sell FOOTASYLUM who could buy it?? They may need to take a massive hit on it .. | gripfit
31/3/2020 10:28 | I'd venture that a large part of their UK customer demographic may well be in some of the hardest hit employment sectors. Athletic wear amongst the young is a classic "Conspicuous Consumption" good ....be seen buying and be seen wearing. The current level of lockdown isn't likely to be helping any of this. oimho GLA 😎 | hawaly
31/3/2020 10:15 | Brutal reality though to me is it means they've still got sales going through which is handy! Looking at 2008-9 seems £2.80 was peak fear (was 2/3 off the price as before) and the recovery was aggressive. As a comparison GRG is currently 1/3 off their highs vs 50% here, both on similar pe yet GRG doesn't have any online sales for now or geographical diversification (and has £60m cash vs £300m). | alphabeta4
30/3/2020 19:53 | Bit of bad press on Granada News. Disgruntled worker at JD warehouse in Rochdale picking online orders who had apparently walked out. Said he was unhappy with the conditions and risks due to Covid-19 - he asked why Boris doesn't shut the place down as he says clothing is non-essential. | prettygreen
27/3/2020 19:35 | This is a good company ,, run well , but covid is going to give it a size 9 were it hurts.. I suspect it will test £3 again ,,, | gripfit
27/3/2020 18:44 | My heart says it's cheap at a fiver. My head says that 8x35p.. Round down to 250p or less is on the cards. | martinc

25/3/2020 17:48 | what i want to know is this a share to add to? or isit likely to fall further! | ali47fish
24/3/2020 22:23 | FWIW I think the main risk is up to a conservative £300m cash burn based on a 4 month shutdown - c33p off the share price and a lag of eps numbers by one year - a bit like in 2008 where the price recovered in 9 months. I've calculated this by looking at the Inland Revenue site for a sample of sites to estimate of business rates which are now 'free' (c£36m if I'm right), an estimate of 25% of the wages from the selling and distribution line and the £161m admin expenses multipled by 0.8 (UK wages subsidy) multiplied by 0.416 (UK turnover) to get the UK only figure (rest of Europe excluded, US deal could also provide further uplift). As a result I have a c£8.60 12 month target. I held half on way down and rebought most at £3.75 and £3.95, nice but kicking myself didn't take the £2.80. Will double my money from here if I'm right. It's at times like these I remember the phrase 'you make most of your money in recessions but you don't tend to realise it at the time' :) | alphabeta4
18/3/2020 09:54 | Who knows? Sales this year and almost certainly next will be right down. When we get back to "normal", will physical shops still be as busy? JD should survive, but at what cost? Macys in the US have closed for this month, along with a bunch of JD concessions in them. | martinc
18/3/2020 08:51 | Crikey ,,, £2.5 possibly ?? | gripfit
17/3/2020 13:00 | £3 ???? | gripfit
16/3/2020 13:25 | i can gaurantee if i buy now,, it will be cheaper later,,,, i think £3 ish could beckon yet... | gripfit
16/3/2020 13:02 | When the FTSE100 nears 4000 will be the time to cherry pick. | the big fella
16/3/2020 12:50 | I reckon this might be near a fair price now, yes. But their shops will be closed for weeks or months in most countries. People self isolating won't need to show off expensive trainers to their mates, because they won't be seeing them much.So it's on a future pe of 10 ish when we are back to normal. I fear it could go lower though. Not sure whether to buy yet or not. | martinc
16/3/2020 11:47 | crikey,,,, this is debt free , one of a few PLC'S not in debt,,,,, why is it half price from two weks ago ??? seems good value. | gripfit |
