FWIW I think the main risk is up to a conservative £300m cash burn based on a 4 month shutdown - c33p off the share price and a lag of eps numbers by one year - a bit like in 2008 where the price recovered in 9 months. I've calculated this by looking at the Inland Revenue site for a sample of sites to estimate of business rates which are now 'free' (c£36m if I'm right), an estimate of 25% of the wages from the selling and distribution line and the £161m admin expenses multipled by 0.8 (UK wages subsidy) multiplied by 0.416 (UK turnover) to get the UK only figure (rest of Europe excluded, US deal could also provide further uplift). As a result I have a c£8.60 12 month target. I held half on way down and rebought most at £3.75 and £3.95, nice but kicking myself didn't take the £2.80. Will double my money from here if I'm right. It's at times like these I remember the phrase 'you make most of your money in recessions but you don't tend to realise it at the time' :)

Who knows? Sales this year and almost certainly next will be right down. When we get back to "normal", will physical shops still be as busy? JD should survive, but at what cost? Macys in the US have closed for this month, along with a bunch of JD concessions in them.

When the FTSE100 nears 4000 will be the time to cherry pick.

I reckon this might be near a fair price now, yes. But their shops will be closed for weeks or months in most countries. People self isolating won't need to show off expensive trainers to their mates, because they won't be seeing them much.So it's on a future pe of 10 ish when we are back to normal. I fear it could go lower though. Not sure whether to buy yet or not.

According to the FT JD already owns it - they will be forced to sell. "JD Sports may be forced to sell Footasylum after CMA probe Competition watchdog finds £90m takeover ‘substantially lessens competition"

RNS well received with Footasylum purchase unlikely to go ahead. Many thought JD overpaying also hint of incestuous nature with this acquisition. Also gross profit now not less than current guidance can be interpreted as a further upgrade. RM

Probably because people were buying and selling at different times of day? It's a feature of share prices...
