Not in a closed period as far as I can see and don't know if any other restrictions. As posted numerous times now their recently revised LTIP now includes a share purchase requirement, thus encouraging/forcing the BoD to buy into the business up to a certain value aligned with their salary. RS hasn't bought a single share from the time he was appointed - just not a good sign IMO, others may view this completely differently though.

Maybe there are restrictions not to incur in inside reading?

Directors are limited as to when they can legally buy and sell shares. They cannot trade between the closing of the financial period and the reporting to the market of that information, often two months later.

I know JD period end is in Feb but maybe other regulations are preventing the CEO from buying?

Also depends what you investing/trading preferences are - some are willing to take on more risk and sometimes this pays off, other times not so much!.

IF, the next update is better than expected then arguably the current price is cheap. The reverse may also apply.

alotto"Disco not all CEOs and insiders buy the shares, it would be reassuring but not a bad indication imo"Given this has lost 27% in value in about a week following the profit warning (only a 10% reduction to forecasts) then I would expect to see some conviction from those in the know that it's overdone and represents very good value. I do take it as a negative tbh, if RS or the CFO bought 6 figure then I'd sit up and take notice. Follow the money!.I've pencilled in 180 as fair value but despite the potential upside it means nothing if come March they reduce forecasts even further. Agree not all insiders buy, but if there's a decent profit to be made and they know it then why wouldn't they buy.

alotto.....I have a shocking record when averaging down. As much as I like JD, I am not not doing it at the moment. Also a little wary of the "they come in 3s" fable for bad news. I'd hope that the BOD wouldn't be so stupid and got the bad news (such that it was in reality) out in one go but who knows

Thomstar, no RNS are published at weekends, but you know that, if you don’t know that then share dealing likely isn’t for you.

alotto, as I've mentioned the lack of post RNS director buying a couple of times, I would also agree it is possible to read too much in to this, let's see. No crystal ball obvs.

Chris cat, why not to average it down, this could be an excellent opportunity to add if you are a long term holder.

£5.8bn market cp for a business that is expected to make £900m with a similar amount of free cash flow. Sentiment has turned against this sector at the moment, but they don't seem like bad ratio's to me......pity my average is nearer £1.70

alottoI just wouldn't compare JD to MKS or supermarkets, completely different demographics and branding. This is a quality business that will pull through this downturn.I'm still keen to buy but have always been concerned about the lack of buying from RS.
