25/9/2021 10:14 | The problem perhaps was the kind of Brexit we ended up with. it need not have been as bad as this. We certainly should have stayed in the single market. | mancman1
24/9/2021 17:16 | I thought Grant Shapps had said that Brexit makes it easier for the Govt to solve the problem. | mancman1
24/9/2021 17:09 | FT reporting that Boris is now reversing yesterdays decision not to relax visa requirements for EU truck drivers.Strange he said the problem was not as a result of Brexit? | hades1

24/9/2021 15:45 | I wonder why there is so little confidence in this Government? | ingermarie
24/9/2021 15:35 | Actually, Brexit is partly to blame. I work in the logistics sector for one of the largest 3PLs in the country. The number of drivers we have seen returning to the EU has been considerable as they are no longer able to work in the UK due to work visa restrictions. The average age of our Brit drivers is high so this issue is only going to get worse over the coming years. Trying to entice younger generations into driver positions is getting harder and harder, as the attraction of driving just isn't there. We are therefore heavily reliant on immigrant workers, not just for driving but warehouse pickers, packers etc. Here in Norfolk farmers all voted for Brexit but now face massive labour shortages also as Brits don't want to pick fruit and veg, again, reliant on EU workers. Talk about shooting ourselves in the foot..... | dealer1972
24/9/2021 15:13 | "The Government recently sought to address the problem by streamlining the testing process so that candidates did not have to take multiple tests before being able to drive different lorry categories." I hope that corners aren't being cut. | nige co
24/9/2021 12:10 | What’s dragging down the BT share price amid its 5G rollout? Ooops wrong board. | nige co
24/9/2021 11:05 | oh so true, just look at anything going on the world Afghanistan etc and on first world social media you will see teenagers wailing as they have gone over their data limit... | stansmith3
24/9/2021 09:57 | I remember when I was a kid we had power cuts in the early 1970's and having candles & coal fires. The youth of today doesn't know they're born. | nige co

24/9/2021 00:09 | not surprising, but few people reckoned to be on these as they were dearer than fixes before the recent ramp upyou could always try to use less energy :o) | stansmith3
23/9/2021 23:20 | Octopus don’t want new customers onto their standard variable government capped tariff!! Also discovered standard variable capped tariffs will rise11% next month and likely a further 14% next April! No wonder the BOE believe inflation is not transitory in the UK. | hades1
23/9/2021 21:10 | prep work started in wales for i'm a celebitv share price got a nice bump from this last year iirc | stansmith3
23/9/2021 20:57 | Just outside M25 London. Spoken to people at work and now they have checked it’s all the same in the SE - fixed prices have doubled presumably because they are losing money on Government capped rate tariffs. Just watched a programme on ITV and they are saying the same thing. The lowest rates are the Government Capped Standard Variable Rates which are not promoted on most supplier’s web sites or any comparison web sites. It’s a another appalling mess. | hades1
23/9/2021 20:33 | hadesthe fix offered by octopus was 30% cheaper than edf, having only been with edf because gne had gone bust, i didn't want to go with any of the fly by night smaller providers and have the same thing happen againi know energy prices vary by region too, so maybe that is why youre getting shafted | stansmith3 |
