BT and ITV going back into November.
What you dont want is to go back to October.

If anyone looks at the graph of a share that has multiplied in price they will see pullbacks along the way, normally as a result of macro concerns in the general market. Given the Covid concerns, lockdowns and travel restrictions it's no real surprise to see ITV fall ... along with most of the market. I still expect to see ITV higher as the vaccination programme covers more of the population.

I've being trading this on the rise up from the recent lows in the 50s and 60s and done quite well. Had been hoping with my recent holding bought in mid 90s and around 102p to hold for a rise up towards 150p and then maybe get some divs too at some point in the future. But now left wondering whether to take my now reduced recent profits and stand on the side to see how much further this is going to pull back

Shorting is an increasingly hazardous pursuit- see what happened on GameStop over the pond.
Stay calm.

Hades, you should know by now, ITV is well and truely 'played' by GS and the rest of the market. We'll probably see headlines tomorrow along the lines of 'ITV share price collapses on James Bond being pulled from the cinemas again !' Which is a load of old nonsense. Marshalls are now in profit of around £1.5m and it all depends now on when GS will ask Marshall to close their short and return the stock (which they've more than likely paid GS huge borrowing fees to boot as well !!!). Don't forget also GS still make money on their own short/put position in ITV as well, so they win, win, win !!!!

Even for ITV this is a bad day.
Down 4% with only 2m traded

yes I would agree with Hades, what makes you think that Marshalls would be happy with only making a 6p or 7p per share short?

I personally don't see a lot of downside in the ITV share price, but who knows with this corrupt market.

Ivan
Do you think they will close their short just below 100p?
Also is the reduction in volume down to GS not playing at the moment?
Volume low and the order book is appalling today

I mentioned last week that I thought Marshalls short trade was in play and if you look up short tracker you will see that they increased their short position in ITV from 0.6% to 0.7% on 21st January 2021 (remember those large after hours trades), which is 28m shares in total give or take. They did a similar trade last year but GS wasn't holding on to over 2billion shares of ITV back then. I mentioned £1.00 target and will look to buy back the stock I sold last week.

Don't forget the holiday companies will be advertising now that the vaccine is being rolled out and the elderly have been booking in their droves again. Britbox launch seems to going well and there's also the added bonus of bid spec. I'll be holding until 150 at least.

has ITV peaked or higher to run. what do people think?

2retire..the share price was 54p in August, it steadily grew to recent high of 111p. My view is it will stay at these levels until we get some positive good news on the roll out and a confirmation the vaccine protects against this new strain, Brexit worries will go and that will help it along. Just getting to 125p means a bidder would have to pay 200p. I have had some nice gains just buying and selling on the dips.

At 106p, they are about the same as they were in the Summer of 2019 rising to 150p at the end of the year, without the turmoil of Covid 19, ITV would have grown to 200p and more and there was always a possibility of a bid also ....in my view 106p is a fair price and 125p is next stop.

The UK stock market is as cheap as chips, stock up for the future.

My money is on higher to run. We're experiencing peak pandemic ... this too, shall pass ... and we're moving into demob happy consumer boom. It might not end well (generally) but I suspect we will see much higher share price before a downturn.

Is this simply a reflection of the longer time it will take to exit this Covid mess? Expectations are being recalibrated.

About 11.5 million traded outside trading book late today at 110-107.8ish - these trades could be days old and they might have more undisclosed.
Large off book trades always common with ITV although it’s the first time in 2021.
Tomorrow will be interesting but I don’t buy into your theory as they have disclosed too much already.

We saw large buy trades being reported after hours last Summer only for the stock to trade lower for a few days afterwards. It looks like that Marshalls short trade could be in play for the next few sessions, its Friday tomorrow and ITV has registered some big falls on either Friday or Monday lately for no apparent reason. I'm expecting the same and will look to top slice a few tomorrow morning with a view of buying back in the next couple of days or so. £1.00 may be the target in the next day or two.
