31/8/2020 17:58 | Typo56: Are you saying ITV still has nearly THREE WEEKS to rise enough to stay in the FTSE100... If so its quite possible that ITV could have such a run now we've shaken most of the shorts and funds out.. | netcurtains
31/8/2020 17:47 | covid..ITV have been below 67p for seven weeks now, so you your premium time value could erode a lot of any gain. I take it you have LIFFE traded option. | stag6

31/8/2020 17:30 | BOIX, ITV won't leave the FTSE 100 index until 21 Sept, meaning they'll be a big uncrossing volume at close on 18 Sept as funds adjust their holdings. I don't think index funds do much adjustment before then. They're expected to track the index, not speculate. As I posted yesterday, Friday's large uncrossing trade wasn't about clearing a stock overhang. It was index funds adjusting their holdings as ITV was relegated from the MSCI Global Standard Indexes to the MSCI Small Cap Indexes (Standard selling, Small Cap buying). | typo56

31/8/2020 16:28 | On the run up to relegation from FTSE 100 stocks decline but after relegation they rise. It's out of FTSE100 tomorrow so should recover nicely.Stock overhang found a home on Friday as we saw with the extremely large trades (including UT). | boix
31/8/2020 16:06 | covid..in case it skipped your notice, 225 million appeared on Friday making volume on the day 280 million, beat Lloyds by 100 million.. Your bet looks like a loser, if it goes down a penny, knowing the spreads, you will be lucky to make a profit, I am betting these low 60's ended in August with that 225 million at 60.72p. I won'tsay good luck as I am long here! | bobdiamond1
31/8/2020 15:52 | Just left the FTSE 100 - that's all.Should gather strength over next few weeks if it follows usual pattern of stocks relegated from FTSE100. | boix
31/8/2020 15:07 | That was a big volume after the bell on Friday..225 million and 11 million at 4.35pm and then almost 30 million posted at 6.03pm. That's a lot of stock, does it mean anything? | goldfinger16
31/8/2020 15:05 | Unless funds start buying in ftse250 portfolio...itv wont see even 70 p...half a million share short on itv..i am on the money | covid 19 deal
31/8/2020 14:54 | Interesting piece from Yahoo Finance. Worst-performing stock ITV (LSE: ITV) shares may not have fallen quite as far as IAG’s and RR’s. But near to 60% is still a heck of a drop. Indeed, absent an unlikely big leap in the share price in tomorrow’s trading, ITV is set to be demoted from the FTSE 100 in the latest quarterly reshuffle of the index. I really don’t understand why this one is quite so unloved by the market. It remained profitable in the first half of the year, despite having to halt production at its studios during lockdown and suffering a big drop in advertising revenue to boot. We’re told production has now largely resumed, and the company is seeing some signs of improvement in advertising. Also that it has sufficient financial flexibility to cope with a second wave of the pandemic, and to continue investing in data, technology, online, and streaming. I can only see ITV as an attractive ‘long-term buy’ at the current discount level. | jimbull
31/8/2020 14:47 | Covid..unless you are borrowing 200 million shares and taking a short position, your little bet on IG index is just a bet, nothing more. Goldman are manipulating this share, so your bet may be a winner, but if the share price is down tomorrow by a few points, take your profit. I think betting on bombed out stocks like ITV, already down by 60% or more, to go down more is a bit risky, especially as the horse bolted a while back. However, it is a bet and not a proper short position. Real shorting is best left to those who know what they are doing, or at least those who think that they know! | jacko07
