just had an idea. What if ITVX Premium offers to franchise the name, but with the first letter replaced by the country's international letter/s.
That way every country can have their own viable studios, thus keeping actors etc employed, instead of a big foreign corporation milking the country's assetts. The recent Hollywood scriptwriters strike shows how vulnerable it is to rely on mainly just one source.
This will of course open up a huge market, for original, quality, informative material, and collaboration. It's up to the consumer to choose, providing there is a choice. |

A US-focused article linked below from Variety talking about the 2025 media M&A landscape. ITV not mentioned but since we are hoping to catch an offer here, may still be of interest.

Interesting "bouenosaires" and reading Lex in this weekend's FT it quotes that the US "Magnificent Seven, including Apple, Meta platforms etc have $530 billion of cash burning a hole through their balance sheets. With the Pound £ falling last week to £/$1.24 I would expect some more M&A here in the UK and Europe. Global reach for added customers with "global products" as you mention is an obvious attraction. Lets wait and see what unfolds in the coming weeks, but ITV and a few others are clear targets imho. |
My impression of ITVX premium @ £60 per year.
Have looked previously on free ITVX, and it was fine, just like more or less normal terrestrial tv channels, on an average day. Decided to try ITVX premium to see if paying for a tv subscription is value for money. ( Will have to buy a smart tv, if I'm still in the UK.)
The first film watched was Belle De Jour, with the delectable Katherine Deneuve. Lovely!! There should be more quality foreign films on tv, in my opinion. Paying for ITVX premium is like watching normal tv at bank holidays, when all tv channels try to outdo each other with numerous popular films, but ITVX premium is quality, and quantity available 24/7, 365 days of the year.
ITVX premium is, is in my opinion a global product,( Sounds better than the competition) which is where paid tv is heading. ITV,BBC,CHAN4,CHAN5,and others, need to get their act together soon before the likes of Netflix present a fait accompli to the UK paid tv viewing market. I see a global franchise opportunity for ITVX premium. |
Yep - Exactly like Goldfinger16...
Whilst I obviously know nothing (Just like GF16 knows nothing) I do suspect very poor Q1 and/or Q2 advertising guidance at some point though based on reasons previously mentioned.
Good potential for some sort of market update IMO before Marchs FY results. |
Games on ITVx does allow ITVx to bypass britbox agreement and sell WORLDWIDE... |
I heard from Goldfingers mate in the pub last night ;-) |
American Idiot. Why would you know of an RNS before release? |
Optimistic thinking Net...Maybe I'll join you in H2 2025.
Not sure on studios into early 2025... |
Advertising revenue down... But touchwood Studio revenues picking up... Touchwood.. Possible annoucement about renting/selling games like LOVE ISLAND on ITVx...
Cheers Net... |
I am hearing an unannounced RNS is on it's way soon regarding H1 advertising revenue guidance...(Guessing a downgrade seeing as UK PLC is looking to cut costs in the region of £25 BILLION come April)

Firstly HNY everybody , I hope you had a nice restful , fun break. My New Year’s resolution (for this chatroom) is to not respond late in the evening when I’ve had a few , & not to bite vs the bigots , children or green eyed monster brigade. With that in mind , I’m not going to ‘launch,’; rather ask GF what he means by his comments around the MMs and window dressing? Are you saying that the MMs are manipulating the shares ahead of a bid (in full knowledge)? |
The this is not a ramp line is pure class. How many morons on here would have fell for that. |
I do like them M&Ms. |
SP at the time of this post: 113.1p. Three years and counting...
goldfinger16 - 01 Dec 2021 - 13:47:45 - 2546 of 20481 I have just heard that a bid for ITV is imminent, the name of the party bidding I have already posted last week. Anyone not long here needs to fill their boots while there is time, don't miss the bus. THIS IS NOT A RAMP. |
Shorts showing amount to 3.34% if still in play, ITV buyback and Level 2 orders show nothing unusual.
A short squeeze should cause an upward spike, so when?
When's the bid Goldy, it's third birthday was Xmas, even the back burner has had power cut ROFLMAO!! |
Looks like ITV are in a 'short squeeze' that has fallen flat due to lack of sellers.
Who'd have thunk it!!!!!! |
thanks goldy |
What the MM's shut up shop this morning. Nothing but window dressing for the folks.
Hope you lot are following this facade, probably not because the usual muppetts are so quick to bash me when I post.
Footnote, ITV shares will begin to outperform the market this next week, a cash bid will be announced at 125p and then the party starts! |
tlobsAnother rec begging post I see.Doesnt seem to be working.stag is a big customer of the takeover, maybe he will enlighten us further later hahaha |
Walter’s back. Welcome back. Good to hear from you Walter. |
LMAO
"Huckers...I see your journo's piece is word for word based on my posts."
"Time you all topped up, any tardiness will cost you big time!!!!"
Is this guy for real? |
