Stan, welcome back. Although I am not your fans I dont think it is fair to ban you. Be aware that I am not one of them, haha |
The direction of the share price is determined on a daily basis, and then the computer programme takes over. If you can outsmart the computer then go ahead, and make some "easy money".
You need to be focused 24/7, in order to beat the computer, AND be very nibble.
I looked at Barclays a liitle while back @ 135P, and thought it was cheap. The same with St James place @ 400p. By the time I thought of buying it was too late when factoring in a safety margin. That's all " hedge" funds do, but also have the ability to manipulate the price somewhat with access to funds/media collussion.
The market will put their clients' money where the small shareholders will not think of entertaining. It's a 50% controlled pyramid scheme, in my opinion.
If you buy anything "cheap" enough, you are more likely to show a gain, OR a small loss.If you can time the next financial meltdown, you're onto a winner. |
Is there no end to this dire performance under McCall’s leadership? Not even a meaningful buy-back or vague T/O chatter has sparked any decent recovery.
Meanwhile, attention focuses upon Gino, one of the last less-than-woke presenters. The pile-on has begun, witness statements have been gathered furtively and many of the shrinking violets who strangely remained silent for many years can now step forward for short-lived fame. All well and good if the law is followed correctly (innocent till proven, anyone?) Clearly the Dame will be prioritising the avoidance of another Schofield/Wallace/Brand scenario.
This embarrassing Shareholder-destruction outcome which she has managed to achieve under extremely generous remuneration packages is set to continue until such time as she and her merry ship of BODs are shunted out. Whatever happened to accountability? |
LIV Golf has agreed a deal with ITV to show live coverage of the 2025 season in the UK.
Coverage will begin with the second round of the season-opening event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with 41 rounds of live golf shown across 14 tournaments on ITVX.
Selected rounds will be shown on ITV1 and ITV4, along with a weekly highlights show on ITV4, making it the only free-to-air golf in the UK.
Since the Saudi-backed event was launched in 2022 it has only been available to watch online.
Niall Sloane, director of ITV Sport, said: "This is an exciting time for LIV Golf as we look ahead to the innovative 2025 season.
"This partnership delivers free-to-air coverage for fans in the UK and we are delighted to welcome LIV Golf to ITV Sport." |

Netflix has not shown any good programs for months. All the good stuff is currently on Apple TV+ and ITVx |
![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) From the BBC. I would suppose price rises on Netflix will help channel viewers over to ITVX...
"Netflix has increased its subscription prices in the UK, after it raised its charges in the US, Canada, Argentina and Portugal last month.
The new UK price for a Standard subscription without adverts, the platform's most popular plan, has risen by £2 to £12.99 a month, with other packages also increasing.
A spokesperson said the hike would allow Netflix to "continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members".
The streaming service reported record global subscriber numbers at the end of 2024, driven in part by its expanding sports coverage.
Netflix's price increases - the first in the UK since October 2023 - will affect all subscription plans.
The Standard subscription with adverts is rising by £1 to £5.99 a month, while the most expensive Premium subscription is also increasing by £1 to £18.99 a month.
The platform is also raising the cost of its Extra Member add-ons by £1.
For a Standard subscription, the fee is increasing from £4.99 to £5.99, while for a Standard subscription with adverts, it's rising from £3.99 to £4.99.
Netflix has reflected the price changes on its website, with the new prices applying to both new and existing customers." |
A little boredom relief on here is required.
Asked a girlfriend once, what sort of blokes do women like, and her reply was. "Younger ones, because they have more energy". Translated, it means that younger ones can pound them for much longer.
Back to ITV, it's obvious that a "Rawhide" signature tune is in play.
Bore them to death, get them up, move them out! |
Am Id - no Gino is in the news. And quoting gbnews - yuk.
If you need stories like this to 'scare everyone here into selling'(!) because you're short - then you really are an idiot. Filtered, see ya. |

Hi Jonny, just be aware that there are Labour Party informers and grasses on these platforms !! They are ready to put people in prison if you disagree with them !! |
ITV in the news tonight….. |
The good thing about Labour showing their true colours is that they'll never get into power ever again after the next election, even though we'll have to suffer another 4 years of incompetence until it happens.
spud |
We are seeing stagflation as in the 1970s. Send your thanks to Reeves and KS. |
Maybe ITV should grill Keir Stalin's plans for "Growth"... |
Morgan are probably buying back for ITV. |
Any hopes this was moving higher have been dashed! |
