No personal attack! Just talk itv here! |
Bouenosaires , don’t worry about the small shareholders. The biggest buyers will be risk arbs buying chunks of the company to agitate for a bump. Fear not , though don’t get ahead of yourself yet as there is zero confirmation of anything , just noise. |
The stock market, can stomach 5% small shareholders in a company, making money out of their "operations". Sometimes, even 10% is acceptable. The small shareholders in ITV, I extrapolated to 22%, and here is the problem. If a reasonable bid is made, obviously most of the 22% will jump at the chance to make quick money. Before anything can be considered, a large portion of the 22%, have to be ejected, by gentle persuation. I'm thinking worst case scenario, ejected at 95p, or less.Buying at rock bottom is your safest bet, in any company. |
Come on Lord Musk return Britain to being Great once again.
Tlobs2...you mean bring on Musk the man who uses the real brains and claims all of their ideas are his. Musk is a fraud and it will all come out when he falls out with Trump.
Anyone want a used Tesla, 55% loss in less than 2 years, aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! |
Really low volume today...on track do a mere 1.6m shares before the UT bumps it up. |
I more like the thought of Elon Musk coming in to convert ITV into a more normal place without the focus on WOKE and LGBT issues, removal of their constant promotion of all things Labour.
Come on Lord Musk return Britain to being Great once again. |
"If a Big Tech player like Amazon were to swoop for ITV, which makes sense as a way to bolt on a strong commercial team to its fledgling UK TV operation, it must protect what makes ITV special." |
A flash in the pan |
For non Telegraph subscribers....
"Why break-up could be Dame Carolyn McCall’s final act at ITV" |
'big news today or tomorrow' 😄 |
Welcome back to the crowd bob - 140p would be very nice |
Isn't it already netc? 😉 |
I got out of this giant pot of jam tomorrow back in August at 78p, I didn't believe any of the imminent bid fairy tales coming from Goldfinger and others. However I got back in last month when they started to look silly cheap.
I am now long with all of August's gains albeit no dividend, I have a feeling that ITV's time has come and suitors are circling. I hope there is no break up just a bid or two for the whole thing.
It will be McCall's swansong if it is bought for North of £5 billion or 140p a share.
Good luck to those who have stayed the course!!!! |
Useful little bounce into the close... |
I wonder how long it will be before Coronation Street is written, directed and acted by AI... Should save ITV a millions... |
net - I think the simplistically lazy view in the City is that ITV M&E own linear TV channels and one day there will be no adverts whatsoever as all adverts will be on YouTube only.
ITV Studios will make everyone redundant and close - and only the BBC make new programs in the UK going forward.
ITV plc will go bankrupt and have to sell all their assets on eBay. Illuminated 20ft ITV sign anyone?
THE END.
(Not likely is it?) |
Do we know why ITV is valued so cheaply? I mean it makes a good profit, has low PE, pays massive dividend, has nice cash pile, and its studios and TV channels are worth quite a lot to competitors...
What is the catch? |
"McCall is thought to have held meetings with private equity firms and sounded out bankers about the possibility of a sale or break-up."
ITV willing seller with the for sale sign gone up..... Let the bun fight commence. |
I don't see a lot of concern from shorters yet. |
