11/7/2024 22:35 | They are uncertain. A decision on Refhyne 2 would be very telling. | gimmethefax

11/7/2024 15:15 | I suppose it depends on whether you want a wind farm or small nuclear plant next to you. As for costs they have come down substantially and onshore wind energy is far cheaper than offshore. | grahamwales
11/7/2024 14:56 | Graham I guess the jury is out on problems living near wind farms, your experience may be the same for everyone or maybe not. This piece on link gives a view, and ignoring the sad affect on birds and bars etc it seems there could or could not be problems for folk near the farms. Maybe, just like mobile phones and high frequency emission it will likely be 20 - 50 years before health problem are apparent; near term issues are it seems for some its no problem and for others it is or at least they say so. On a cost issue it would be interesting to see the whole life cost of the farms, such as life, need for maintenance and of course the cost of implementing. On low costs to consumers I suspect this is unlikely not least with the 20% vat unless of course the Government take VAT off wind power energy; but then it should come of Nuclear as this is being marketed as zero carbon and solar. IMO solar and nuclear, not the Sizewell C type but the small nuclear, are a belter options. but there aren't any real good options as I guess they all have various downsides. | colsmith

11/7/2024 12:29 | Most are built at a higher level in order to gain maximum wind. Until natural gas becomes the minor contributor to electricity they will still price electricity based on gas prices. | grahamwales
11/7/2024 12:23 | Lived in Germany village near turbines, they had painted the bottom half green and top blue little noise and the villagers got discounts on power. | rovi70

11/7/2024 11:45 | COLSMITH I live in wales and surrounded by them 😂😂 People have to realise that if they want cheaper energy bills then renewables are the way to go otherwise oil and gas companies will continue to run cartels to keep prices high. | grahamwales
11/7/2024 11:28 | Graham re 32327 "Labour lifts Tories’ ‘absurd’ ban on onshore windfarms" Not absurd if you live near one these noise generators! England is a to coin a phrase a "postage stamp" at 55k sq miles (*)and not many place away from folks; perhaps the people should be asked - no chance - we don't count. * and around 1000 people per sq mile. | colsmith
11/7/2024 11:23 | £1 test will be the first main test. Something is brewing and expect management in talks with either a major partner or even a bid. Could be very exciting times ahead. share price looks cheap and plenty of upside. For those hold from above £1 could be a struggle but can always average down. We will See…. | onehanded

11/7/2024 09:56 | What you found is amazingly positive for ITM ; there is no substitute for certainty when undertaking large projects, BP and Shell appear to have looked beyond ITM. Refhyne1 should bring them back | norbus
