No complaints , and looking forward now orange man bad is on his way to Mount Rushmore |
SSE just signed a contract to build further offshore wind farms to supply 1 million homes. Not sure where that electricity is going to go if the grid can’t cope at the moment.
Today’s drop is no doubt coincided with Plug Q3 results. |
Might 'sound like' Graham, unhappily it is nowhere near. Have a look at the very recent report from NESO which is the government's own independent assessors. We need SMRs yesterday to ensure base load. All the big offshore wind farms, if they are built is super super fast time will not be able to transmit the power south.Great opportunity for ITM to lease kit to 'soak up' all the power that is being switched off because there is no transmission capacity. The new onshore site in Shetland by SSE (UK largest site onshore) was paid over £3M sshut down money in the first month of operation.Pay ITM £5m and the payback will be 3-6 months. |
How are things where you are? |
Probably quite easy most of time, the challenges come when we have weather like we've just had for last two weeks- anticyclonic gloom . Pretty much zero wind and zero solar (I made 10 kWh in 10 days). If green Hydrogen had been made in abundance then perhaps it'll work. Until then we'll need nuclear and probably gas to fall back on for some time to come. |
Itm is getting it again
Shorts paradise this is |
Sounds like the UK will be energy secure using renewables by 2035 unfortunately no one knows not even starmer how it’s going to be achieved 🙄 |
So, ESG?
How trendy! How considerate. |

"albeit with a grant"
Has always been the crux.
ITM ought to be able to show the value of the solutions they offer, regardless of grants and handouts...and I believe they can (although, it would be easier to believe if we saw the Public Report on time, that we were promised for Refhyne 1).
Trump's climate views, whatever they may be, should not be a factor in the matter.
For a start, ITM Power are a UK company. Secondly, it is either profitable for a customer to buy ITM products or it is not.
If it is, customers will buy that value.
If it is profitable, but only with incentives and grants, then this is a very bad business model, utterly reliant on psychopaths in suits being able to lay heavy burdens on the people. Indefinitely?
Why would anyone want to buy what you are selling?
ESG?
Can you show us when it would be profitable for a customer to purchase ITM solutions without a grant? Now, already? When? Where?
ITM Power are yet, in my opinion, to effectively present this value to the public or to shareholders.
Show us the numbers!
Show us why this customer bought this product - and, would they have done so without the grant?
"We can't speak for the customer."
Indeed.
Why would anyone want to buy what you are selling?
Why should I invest? |
ITM Power PLC (AIM:ITM) has been maintained as a "Buy," reflecting its strong backing by industry giants like Linde and Shell.
The company closed 2023 with cash reserves of £230 million and currently has an order backlog of £127 million.
Its participation in the UK’s Hydrogen Allocation Rounds could drive additional orders for its NEPTUNE V systems as the country targets 1 gigawatt of capacity by 2025.
"ITM is backed by large and reputable players in the industry, with Linde as a key shareholder," the analysis noted. |
Strong finish. Has the sector boimunced off the bottom? |
Jefferies cuts ITM power price target to 60 (80) pence - 'buy' |
Sad but true. But I feel he will be able to afford a travelodge for a few days |
Hiring in Germany
CEO working on Sundays.
Can translate at bottom : 1 sales mgr, 1 project mgr & 7 Engineers : No need for Linde and better profits, for smaller kit. |
ITM has finally arrived as its CEO and CTO show they can enjoy humor in a tough market. The 5 MW Neptune V is clearly the market leader and with ITM's containerised plug and play 1& 2 MWs units, form a smart range suited for today's state of the market. BP and Neom are freezing or pulling out for lack of offtake ;With cash in the bank Schulz and his team must cut the overheads to a minimum soonest then hold a fort hopefully on break even or better to satisfy today's needs ready to zoom back up when the market takes off as it will eventually have to. I believe the management endorse this sentiment but it remains to be seen if they will execute. The corporate change of advisors is also a hint at change, but the politics in Germany is a factor that will also effect outcomes,, In any case, there will be enough demand in the above range to keep ITM in business as the market leader therein |
