Ok bit more clarification on why RWE used 4mw for ITM and 10mw for Sunfire on the trials. Seems they wanted to use small electrolysers x 2.
Smallest ITM is 2mw. Smallest Sunfire is 5mw. |
I had the guy who installed my solar 13 years ago around to quote for another battery and to reroute some of the cables post an extension...Had an interesting chat with him- he clearly knows his stuff- We talked about new build houses and the fact that solar still isn't included in building regs etc, which is frankly as disgrace. Anyway he was saying that new 4 bed houses should have min 4kwh panels & battery, 3 bed a 3 kWh system etc etc..unless there's a good reason why not ie a larger building blocking the sun. House builders have obviously been lobbying to prevent this..
Yeah love my Tesla Model S too Graham. |
For the question on LSE board.
PEM electrolysers are more efficient than Alkaline so they most likely produce the same amount of hydrogen even though the Alkaline is 10mw compared to PEM 4mw. |
The UK needs to re start offshore wind contracts asap.
RWE wins big in 5.5 GW German offshore wind tender |
I love my Tesla and I think electric cars for majority will be fine. Will still need alternatives for those who are unable to charge at home and don’t want to spend an hour at a private charge point filling up. |
nicebut - people I know who own EVs, love them.
As has been discussed plenty of times - the future will be a mix of technologies, each suitable for specific applications. |

Today, German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Robert Habeck and Lower Saxony’s Minister President, Stephan Weil joined RWE for the inauguration of their 14MW pilot electrolyser plant in Lingen, Germany. Under the slogan "Wasserstoff marsch!", in an inspiring speech, RWE CEO Markus Krebber officially opened the plant today. 4MW of the pilot plant are utilising ITM’s TRIDENT stack platform, and have been integrated turnkey by Linde Engineering. The other 10MW of the pilot plant are based on alkaline technology provided by Sunfire. The plant will generate up to 270 kg of green hydrogen per hour using electricity from renewable sources. Dennis Schulz, ITM CEO, said "It has been a privilege to attend the inauguration alongside esteemed politicians, customers and partners. The pilot plant will allow RWE to gain valuable experience in operating our technology, whilst we are already in the process of delivering a further 200MW of electrolyser stacks and skids to Lingen for the largest PEM electrolyser plant in build today." |
Full year earnings out Wednesday!! Let's hope guidance is upped again!! This sector needs to get going !! Looks like competition is hotting up |
It`s strange isn't it? Sentiment still driven by the Oil Co`s I suspect, because anyone who has an EV generally loves them- I`m not sure doing large mileage daily would work in the UK yet, but as 78% of us potter around town doing c20miles per day or less- they work fine and mine is powered by solar for c8 months of the year. Love it.
Edit: Too many mixed messages by recent incompetent Government doesn't help. Interesting article skinny, thanks for posting |
Steady progress is what Dennis is looking for.😉 |
Even with great news ! Nothing will move this sector higher!
Imho - I hope I'm wrong - I usually am |
Everyone looking forward to the week I hope. Going to be interesting going forward especially with a full factory ready to be shipped and paid for over next 12 months. 😁😁 |
Would give Plug another 12 months before going under or getting taken out. Is Cooley running the show there 😂😂 |

Bearing in mind the UK imports 70% of its gas blue hydrogen in the UK is totally pointless. Turning natural gas into Hydrogen is wasteful and expensive. If no further oil and gas fields are allowed it will mean importing even more gas. Is this a way of companies like BP keeping gas prices high I wonder. As before nothing has changed with the new government just smoke and mirrors as usual. The UK doesn’t deserve companies like ITM and should move to Europe along with Linde Engineering who also seem to have very little work in the UK. |
Graham re 32791- blue H2O and they are not having new North Sea licences - seems they don't like so called fossil and at the same time do like it. |
Another top-upfor me. |
It looks like markets will be up today in the US |
