02/11/2021 15:12 | Jonwig, seen you on a number of boards, a few of which you have set up. I’m invested in a fair number of renewables funds and also just invested in home reit. Just starting to look at forestry as I saw Foresight forestry have an IPO but don’t know much about the sector. As I think you are, being retired I’m looking for lower risk areas but with decent divis plus some capital growth. Any pointers or thoughts on forestry as a sector and any other forestry funds worth a look at? TIA | gbcol
04/10/2021 12:11 | August 2021 David Stephenson of the FT recommends diversifying from world stock markets that could well be too high. WOOD makes a sensible diversification especially with our world's alarming plastic pollution problem. Shortage of forestry land and rising land prices should increase established companies net assets by more than inflation. Increasing effort worldwide to reduce Rainforest clearance. New housing starts are now rising with increased use of pre-manufactured timber shells and roof joints. Amazon e-commerce and supermarkets are using less plastic more recyclable cardboard and paper. At £22.30 WOOD looks a great hedge against inflation, medium and long term returns are likely to rise above inflation as demand outstrips supply. | olliemagern

25/11/2018 13:27 | Initiative Q is an attempt by ex-PayPal guys to create a new payment system instead of credit cards that were designed in the 1950s. The system uses its own currency, the Q, and to get people to start using the system once it's ready they are allocating Qs for free to people that sign up now (the amount drops as more people join - so better to join early). Signing up is free and they only ask for your name and an email address. There's nothing to lose but if this payment system becomes a world leading payment method your Qs can be worth a lot. If you missed getting bitcoin seven years ago, you wouldn't want to miss this. Here is my invite link: This link will stop working once I’m out of invites. Let me know after you registered, because I need to verify you on my end. | bargainbob
