Results are due in March. I get the feeling that there is a little tree shaking going on. Figures crossed that this is a bid target !! :)

emmmmmm this is all starting to look very interesting !

Spoke with my broker today she wasn't aware of any takeover/mbo but pointed out that IT Spending was set to increase again this year and that the company looked very undervalued. She then did some more digging for me and called me back and said that the company was due to report in March and the company should break even with a small profit.(possibly a trading statement in feb)

She also pointed out that the stock seemed to be rapidly running up so something must be going on, such as possible takeover target due to it being so undervalued "do u want some ?". (typical broker!!)

So I am now the proud owner of some shares !!

Rock & Roll !

Just taken another look at the Companys figures.
Before exceptional profits on an investment sale and before goodwill amortization they lost £97K in the first half. That would take an extra £250K of t/o to cover at a 40% margin.

Capitalisation of the Company at 15p is £3.7m. Suppose as suggested by JamesR they could do an MBo at 25p. Value of Company would be £6.2m. They had £1.3m of cash in balance sheet so deduct this and you get £4.9m. Borrowing this at 6% say would cost £350K of interest which would require another £750k of turnover.

This looks very feasible to me. If the Directors have faith in the IT recovrey they would almost be mugs not to try it.

Directors had 23% of Co anyway at last annual report with another 70% held in reportable holdings including 19% held by Southwind the vehicle of the financier Morton. A mysterious S.Austen was recently reported as having 5.7% of the shares

Looks very interesting to me. The question is what price would the major holders accept?

Rumours flying around in the city suggests MBO/Takeover at a price of 25/30p. Anyone heard anything the same?
If so I'm going to top up myself!

Software stocks were higher in mid-afternoon trading on Thursday after Lehman Brothers upgraded the European IT services sector to "neutral" from "negative", citing an expected improvement in revenues and booking volumes in 2004.

Nice to see the outlook improving. Think ISL could have a strong 2004.

Well sometime since I posted these as a good speculation and I still think thats true. Just bouggt afew more aat 12.4p even after todays rise.

Cash of £1.1m+0.5m from sale of Proquote+0.4m possible from Proquote sale over next two years against market cap of approx £3m. That leaves £1m to justify on profits. Annual report said breaking even over last quarter so if sustained would't take much to push it up to profits of a few 100k

Recent market surge probably good for AFX finance business. There's no doubt that most companies now value their web-sites and I think are likely to budget more in this area so ISL well placed

I suppose it's Easter, they've balanced the books and don't want to get landed with any stock or commitments on a pretty inactive stock that in consequence can be a bit volatile. Certainly they shifted bid down pretty damn quick on a £625 sale!
