06/11/2010 18:47 | Well, Im on an oil rig at the moment so cant show you a pic until I get home on 15th. I was torn between the White the Black and the tobacco sunburt, in the end I went with the Black as it looks nice with all the chrome of the Bigsbyesque trem. Cant wait to get home and play it again, only had a couple of days before I had to leave it, at least theres a cheap strat clone on here to keep my hand in. | hannabella
05/11/2010 19:45 | Have you a pic Hannabella? | merlin55
05/11/2010 18:37 | good that Merlin! first guitar solo has some sliding diminshed's in it, going down three frets at a time... :) OK, I'll stop now... | wolterix
05/11/2010 18:33 | blimey, that's a guitar and a half.. | wolterix
05/11/2010 18:32 | Just bought myself a new guitar, a Duesenberg Starplayer TV, couldnt resist it! | hannabella
05/11/2010 18:30 | Yep way out of my league though Wolt :-) I like these guys, they havent been over here yet. Check out the bass man's chromatic harmonica intro. | merlin55
04/11/2010 08:37 | have you heard this? Rhythm Futur, Django Reinhardt - mix of loads of diminished chords, but also nice tritone substitutions at the start between C and F Sharp - a diminished interval, but using the whole tone scale... quite spacey for it's time... | wolterix
04/11/2010 08:27 | Yo Merlin - yep, same shape as my D7 with E flat root... or, if you fret it at the fifth fret say, so your 1st and 3rd strings are being fretted at the sixth fret - but, you keep the root at the fifth fret on the bottom E - A rather than B flat - then you've got a nice A7 flat 9 wheels within wheels... :) you could keep your diminished shape at the fifth / sixth frets, but alternate between A / B flat in the root... but I wouldn't want to have to 'improvise' over a sequence of those two chords... bit beyond me that! Leave it to John McLaughlin, say.... | wolterix
04/11/2010 08:18 | Hi Wolt, My take on a Dim is the root with a flattened 3rd, flattend 5th and the 6th. My preferred (easy) shape is bar the first 4 strings and fret the 1st and 3rd strings one fret higher. It may well be a passing chord, but high impact IMO | merlin55
03/11/2010 20:52 | diminshed chord is just a 7th chord with the root one step higher, though Merlin? or a minor chord with the fifth flattened.. take your basic open D 7 triangle, fret the E flat on the D string to raise it a semitone... or take your A 7 triangle (upside down compared to the D7 one) on the middle strings, but fret the Bflat on the bottom E with your thumb, rather than the A root usually they're just passing chords though? so your basic I IIm V progression of say D, Em A7 get's the E flat slipped in to go chromatically between the D and the E I (IIflat dim) IIm V - D, Eflat dim, E min, A7 sure you could fit a few in there..! | wolterix
03/11/2010 12:08 | Cracking song Bamboo - although I thought it had some diminished and/or plus chords in it. The Windsor Davies/Don Estelle version still makes me laugh. I've just bought a TC-Helicon Voicelive2 vocal and harmony processor, it really is an excellent piece of kit - the analogie guitar input can be used by the unit to work out the pitch and chord, then digitise it and output the effected lead and harmony vocals. | merlin55
