03/6/2019 19:57 | Sorry, but a grumpy day. In this post-fact world can we really believe the claims made by The Manufacturer? Especially "IQE’s products are in virtually every smartphone in the world today." and "Today, the business has a 55% – 60% share of mobile/RF global market." If true, can we bank on a huge increase and revenue and profitability when our penetration is already so high? OK, 5G phone modems should command higher prices than 4G but essentially this is substitution of a new technology for old. vcsels may achieve higher penetration outside of Apple products but is the world convinced that FaceID will become the norm - after all, Apple is reinventing TouchID and AR still sounds rather niche and not mass market. Yes, we hope to win a decent slug of the 5G base station/ infrastructure market but I don't think there's any confirmation that the current limited 5G trials are using CS technology so it may fall into the "nice to have" but not necessarily "essential" bucket. Wireless mice. I've used them for 10? years. Never been aware they use vcsels. LIDAR. Yes, great potential there but no sign yet I think of mass-market adoption. And Mr Musk still is adamant that radar and clever image-processing will be adequate. As I and others have asked before, it would help enormously if we could understand IQE's current commercial footprint and so begin to gauge the potential upside. Don't want to diss The Manufacturer but it did come across as rather gung-ho / Daily Express like! | sf5

03/6/2019 09:13 | On the 4th of June last year IQE issued a statement announcing the time date and location of the AGM.In the absence of a similar announcement so far today and for those who need to plan, I'm sharing AGM news posted on the LSE BB which claims the information was provided by Hargreaves Lansdown who will register your attendance as your proxy:"AGM June 25, the Village Hotel, Cardiff CF14 7EF at 11am" | diplomat65
02/6/2019 10:00 | Interesting to see SOX were down 17.5% in May, one of the worst months in a while. In that context, IQE fall of c. 18.5% doesn't look too shabby. | sf5
02/6/2019 02:37 | hxxps://www.cardiff. Interesting Read: Researchers at Cardiff University have shown tiny light-emitting nanolasers less than a tenth of the size of the width of a human hair can be integrated into silicon chip design. The photonic band-edge lasers can operate at superfast speeds and have the potential to help the global electronics industry deliver a range of new applications – from optical computing to remote sensing and heat seeking, | mhassanriaz
01/6/2019 19:10 | It is a peculiarity I hadn't noticed before, but the declaration of Drew Nelson's exercise (RNSed 29th Apr) indicates that he exercised the option on 25th April, but that "Admission expected to commence on 3 May 2019." So when on the 30th April they declared the total number of shares in issue, they were correct not to include these extra shares. As they seem to declare total Voting rights on the last day of each month, it hence wasn't until 31st May that they declared the new number of shares. Interestingly though (not really) TRP's holding notice of two days earlier quoted the correct (increased) number of total shares in issue. | kazoom
01/6/2019 18:44 | Cheers, I hadn't realised these options would take so long to work through the system | lpavlou

01/6/2019 13:52 | Anyone else noticed the company has issued 7m shares this month? Last month it was nearly 3m shares. These can't be going to the board as there have not been any director share declarations? Are they going into the pension scheme or being used to fund infrastructure? ie giving shares in lieu of cash? | lpavlou
31/5/2019 20:30 | sweenoid - agreed. TRP has reduced its shares on loan by almost 10% as well as increasing its overall holding. That has to be positive, assuming they don't reverse the trend in a few weeks' time. Either way, it's pointless trying to read anything into a share, based on one day's price fall or rise. | lord loads of lolly
31/5/2019 19:19 | you Are ‘thinking ‘ too much ;-) | sweenoid
31/5/2019 18:52 | TRP increasing there stake , somehow the market thinks its negative. Maybe that’s the plan help the shorters depress the share price , so they can stake build if & when they have spare funding & takeover the lot with the help of the the major shareholder Oppenheimer. Leaving the PI still Dreaming of £2 plus . Ime beginning to think they are pulling the rug from under our feet. | grity

31/5/2019 15:37 | As they implied to expect anouncements..but have NDA's as you say Tom, the rns will presumably be: "Today we have no rns due to NDA". ;-) Dave. | dr_smith
31/5/2019 14:33 | NDA’s likely, don’t expect too much fanfare (if any) | tomduck
31/5/2019 13:40 | Croquet we were promised diddly squat. There is no signal of any intent to release any further news on the next two contracts that I can see ?? | beermat1
31/5/2019 12:56 | TRP increase their holding again, and I know some would be delighted they have taken back a ‘few’ on loan | sweenoid

31/5/2019 10:57 | 2nd May 2019 quote "In addition to the qualification with this customer, further VCSEL product qualifications are at advanced stages with more than ten other customers, two of which are expected to reach a successful conclusion over the next few weeks." I think 4 weeks can be called "a few weeks". | croquetman |
