mw16 i think this person is sitting in a mental institution or pensioners home with nothing better to do. The garbage which is incessantly typed is unbelievable. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they own any IQE at all or any other shares for that matter. |
Just a thought - if China is now in on the act re AI don't you think that might encourage spending on Data centres and mega computers by US big tech and government. Iqe wafers will be in greater demand not less. |
Another trash post. Zero worthwhile contribution. |
tomboyd, I definitely think it’s a wait and see re Deepseek but don’t think it effects IQE anyways because whoever supplies the AI more and more CS are needed.
If I was a LT Nvidia investor though I would take the huge profit run up and sit on the sidelines. |
Elon Musk on DeepSeek:
He says, DeepSeek “obviously†has ~50,000 Nvidia H100 chips that they can’t talk about due to US export controls.
That is significant if it is true -
We will have to wait and see - |
Nothing is obvious here - and as for growing up - I'd prefer to get younger. |
Short?! 😂 He’s filtered so didn’t see.
As you suggest Tom some of the posters here couldn’t explain what IQE does let alone post an opinion. Definitely long but not a ramper, pumping is for others, however when I see something positive worth shouting about for IQE I will.
Solid share price performance today, will be interesting to see what the Nasdaq finishes down today, will do well to avoid a 4% drop from the look of the futures as investors look to shore up some spectacular gains. |
I think the Deepseek news is very interesting and definitely a worry for the likes of Nvidia and Arm and those firms that have had massive AI fuelled run up in share price in past year.
However if Deepseek massively lowers the costs involved (apparently it only cost $6m v billions this can only be good to make AI totally accessible and an every day thing. Whilst that’s undoubtedly going to be a bad thing for humanity (imo) it will just fuel the whole thing, will probably speed up the upgrade cycle.
Boboty grow up, Cross has been here a long time and is obviously not a short. There clearly is too much post repetition here, some of that is regulars but also just people randomly posting items that have already been posted multiple times. Everyone should take a minute and read the recent messages before posting and perhaps actually try and articulate an opinion, if capable ;) |
Looks like lts and crosswires are nursing a short position. |
Dave, yes semi stocks set for big down day on that news, Semi ETF index down circa 10% in UK, if it’s true about the Chinese effort (which is not a given) then it’s certainly an issue for some of the high flying USA semis in particular.
Sadly the updated Barclays broker revenue forecasts don’t look great so let’s hope IQE have some extra revenue up their sleeves. Surely it cannot be hard to substantially beat the lousy 2026 forecast of £134m!
2025 forecast is £127m, for the share price to ever get back to 50-60p level they will need £160-170m minimum revenue |
Boboty 😂 |
![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) IQE and Quintessent hook up for quantum dot laser epitaxial wafersIQE and quantum dot laser specialist Quintessent are to set up the world's first large-scale quantum dot laser ("QDL") and semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) epitaxial wafer supply chain. The project is backed by an initial purchase order of $0.5m for delivery of production wafers to Quintessent through 2025.The rapid expansion of AI-driven applications has placed significant requirement in data centres power consumption driving the migration from copper chip to chip connectivity to Silicon Photonics which has created an increasing demand for high-bandwidth, low-latency, energy-efficient and reliable optical interconnects.Traditional laser technologies struggle to meet these requirements, making QDLs and SOAs a critical innovation for future AI infrastructure which offer superior performance, including extended lifetimes, improved efficiency, lower noise and greater resilience to environmental fluctuations.wafer_whole-1-150x150.jpegIQE and Quintessent have collaborated for over a decade to transition QDL technology from research to large-scale production.Building on research breakthroughs from John Bower's laboratory at the University of California, Santa Barbara, the partnership has successfully developed highly optimised and high performing gain GaAs-based quantum dot epitaxial wafers on 6-inch substrates versus state of the art 4-inch art indium phosphide lasers. This achievement enables the production of hundreds of millions of high-performance edge-emitting lasers annually. |
How many times do you need to post on this BB? Literally thousands of useless posts.Small hat trash. |
Just as IQE announce an AI collaboration, China release a cheapo AI chatbot that sends AI chips stocks tumbling. |
How many times do we want to post the same news about the TU? Who votes this stuff up? 😂 |
Yet another post with zero context and nothing to do with IQE. |

Todays share price action will be instructive, Friday clearly about short term traders and covering shorts.
Sp current down to 14.7, if it can finish the day not down below 15p then I am more willing to be positive about the direction of travel.
Zak is another tipster, as right as much as he is wrong and that’s being kind, best ignored. |
The two latest updates were the TU & the Quintessent partnership extension.
The TU was probably better than many expected, suggesting stabilising sales. However revenues were only £3m up on the previous year, which in itself represented a 5+ year low.
The partnership update also sounded positive. However, according to the RNS it’s only set to generate an extra $500k sales through 2025.
So whilst both bits of news have given the share price a welcome boost, I somehow doubt they’ll push it on to 22p by end February, barring significant further contract wins between now & then. My gut feel is they’re more likely to create a support level somewhere around the current price.
I don’t follow Zak’s tips, so I guess he may have given further reasons for his confidence. But I pay little attention to tipsters & broker notes anyway because in my experience they’re as often as not wrong. |
Shrimper2, I think the share has momentum and it will reach 22 p much sooner than the end of February. |
More importantly he said by the end of next month |
Zak Mir has today posted a video predicting that the share price of IQE will reach 22 p. |
