Perhaps IOM will have a pop at IDE. They have a datacenter in Bournemouth, a nice contract with Atos and their Dartford lifecycle outfit is apparently doing quite well. Dobbie being ex Iomart and a large IDE Group shareholder will probably be glad to see some return from what was once Cupid. (Albeit a pittance compared to the heady days of CUP)

Seems to be against the trend upwards in cloud. Think it’s got a way to fall

Wondering if the acquisition strategy is to be funded by a placing following the capital markets day.

They fell further after my post this morning, always interesting to see what happens after first markdown. The founder CEO retired last year my thoughts now are as posts here allude; there is now pressure on the new CEO to deliver.

Nasty fall today.
I sold a few at 310p this morning but should obviously have sold more.
if I had sold the lot, then this mooted offer of £4 would have materialised at once.
It may yet come but I see it as unlikely.

Didn't the board here reject a takeover offer a few years ago? I can't recall, but I think there was an offer on the table at around £4. The sooner Macsween finds a buyer for his stake and the company gets taken private the better imo. Looks like a long haul otherwise.

Looks expensive now that growth has slowed

IOM is to continue its "transition away from legacy self-managed infrastructure revenue to managed cloud revenue", the latter carrying a lower profit margin in the short term. In my experience as an investor I have found that transitions from any legacy business always take longer than predicted.
Since we are now in a new tax year, I am tempted to take my profits here and seek a more promising alternative. IOM seems to have stopped growing for the time being and a PE ratio of 24 seems high.
We are assured that prospects for the longer term are promising but I have seldom read a statement from any company chairman that does not contain this assurance !

Results today contained no real surprises and much the same as 19/20 seems a fair result. Balance sheet is rock solid.

If growth resumes in 20/21 then look reasonable value at this level

Another small director buy on the way soon? They seem to try to prop up the share price when it gets close to 3 quid.

Couple of big sells today -- 170k and 159k. I wonder if that's MacSween cashing in a few. In the meantime, the share price just dribbles lower and lower.

Late January (31/1) last year, IOM payed a dividend. Are we to expect one in the next few days? I have scoured their website, and the latest reports, and drawn a blank.

The investors section of their website is pretty poor for an IT-industry company IMHO. What's the point of a financial calendar that does not include divvi and ex-div dates?

EDIT>> found it, 29jan (friday) is payment date

Ding dong going on at 320p currently with a buyer in size at 320p (iceberg of 2201) as well as 318.5p (iceberg of 1250) providing some downside protection at present. Recovery contender and also possibly setting up for a trading bounce the way this bounces around like a rocket in ranges.....repeatedly....over and over again.

Could be a floor here.

All imo

Would have thought that their data centre would be in high demand in the present situation

Hasn't recovered very well this company. It's volatile and can be traded but erratic moves too so not always straightforward.

Noted a large seller coming in here knocking the price down from near 340 to 320. Large iceberg of 5001 sat on the offer today at 320. It is prone to small profit warnings this one, but odd to note a seller coming in like this when the market is uber bullish and rampant.

It's miles off the highs so a possible recovery contender back nearer to the pre-crash highs around that £4 mark.

Just watching atm - sellers can take a while to clear.

All imo

Pretty derisory (10 grand) share purchase by the CEO. Hardly going to get the share price moving.

Would be good to see the new CEO picking up some shares at this level. If he doesn't, that should tell us a lot imo.

Pretty uninspiring H1 results imo, notwithstanding the covid effect. Can't see this getting back up to 4 quid any time soon. Now well under the 200 day m.a. too, so will struggle to regain 350, except if there's a bid of course. All imo.
