Nashwan pretty sure anything more than the standard RNS would have to be approved by the NOMAD which takes time - time with the speed of the fall today they didnt have - hopefully as SG says they are busily crafting a further clarification on the current position

I see what you are saying Neddo, well my apologies if my posts spooked anyone, that was not my intention, just genuine panic at the time on my behalf.

Certainly no smugness on my behalf, just relief to be honest with you.

Topped up at 133, then sold when it dipped back and i thought uh oh. Should have held. days like today do that. At least the rns reflected what many of us supected; bear raid. Waiting now to see if there is a sub 150p buy opp then im back in. Good luck all, what a nervy day :-0

The business position got far better in the rns recently out on the AGM, shame IOF didn't spell it out better. Maybe they will now.

We did warn them that they needed to.

I already have deatils of who etc.

This is nowt to do with the business position of IOF.

IO3 last I heard is a 700mt unit on 30k bpd. I'll leave you to work out the profits on that.

diggulden: I'm not going to recite what you wrote for the exact reasons I mentioned, but you might want to look back through your posts and think about how some of them look to someone arriving at the board and not knowing you were a long termer here.

Anyway, glad you managed to pick more up today.

warrens...
I agree this is usual bland RNS but as they pay a lot of money for this service and with confidence in their business they could have been more reassuring to their investors.

after all , if sg was to say he is selling , imagine what would happen here, so careful what you say , guys, just like this morning , does not take much to cause panic , how many opened their laptop and seen the screen and just pressed the sell button , didn't even look for a reason , a costly lesson for a few that will have to pay extra to get back in, my little rant for today.

Its not panic Im worried about diggulden its the the unbearable smugness of your attitude.I too have bought, sold and traded this morning but I wouldnt dream of trumpeting any success.Too many pi's have been savaged this morning and nerves will be very raw They have my sympathy, they dont need to have salt rubbed in their wounds.

For all of you banging on about the RNS that is a standard RNS companies release when there is a large movement in the share price - it's a fairly standard format.. What it means is there has been no material change in the business and the reason for the fall is people are selling their shares and not through any change in operations etc

Well, the 'Intermediate-term Sell' my chart work signalled on 24th May - actually the only important investment sell signal since the uptrend started in Oct 11 - heralded a more serious test of this share's bull market than seemed likely.

Sometimes one's guts benefit from a good clear out and today's diarrhoea has sure done that. However, whilst the main uptrend 'confidence line' has been tested, share price is back within the channel currently. Does look like a good old-fashioned bear raid. Question is: is this serious manipulation to enable bidder(s) to t/o the outfit on the cheap? If SG's correct in foreseeing an imminent approach, it would figure, presumably.

It's been frustrating trying to buy online: both Barclays and TDinvesting kept spitting out straight market orders for real shares and I finally got filled at 1.44 - in the money at present but having come late to this "party", very much underwater overall today.

A bit like the old nightmare of roaming the streets naked. Anyone got a coat...or at least a loin cloth?

In my post the other day I did try to warn everyone that the short term price would be determined by supply and demand not ppms PE's or KG of Iodine.

Following my own advice I sold most of my holding this am at 1.90, but didnt take advantage of the 1.30 top up opportunity as I was at work. Damn!

Bought back some 5,000 at 1.57

Retiree. whilst I agree with your sentiment for a short term fillip, I'm still personally looking at the long game. That game in my opinion is to maximise the sell value for this company. We know its going to happen but I don't want to be short changed for a paltry 8 quid or so. An RNS to soon letting the cat out before we have planted iof6 and contracts in place for IOF13 would only act as a catalyst. Whilst we will no doubt be inundated with good news RNS,s from 2 months on or so there is no point "telling them what we are going to tell them".
Whilst today has be very disturbing for some, it still doesn't change the fact that a game is played for 90 mins. OK, the opposition have just popped in a goal but were still 5-1 up!

What was the point of that RNS? A company does not have a infinite amount of RNSs, they should use them more wisely over at Iofina.

The Medici, I understand what you are saying, but posts on a BB should not have any reflection on an individuals desire to sell or buy.

Not sure what panicked posts you refer to after I sold? Why would I be panicked if I had already sold?!?!

IOF must know the reason for price drop with brokers representing their City interests.Investec could have said number of SB stops triggered as a result of selling pressure.
What the RNS did not specifically state was the company has no reason to understand the price fall owing to trading. It could have taken the opportunity to reassure investors by stating that operations/trading were still on track following the recent AGM/trading update.

If the board isnt aware of any reason why the price dropped then they bloody well should be.This is aim for gods sake, pathetically anaemic rnss, confirm everbodies prejudices and invite the shorters and traders to create mayhem .What's needed is leadership.

diggulden: I'm happy for you, but you really need to know that your posts did no one any favors today. Posting panicked messages even once you'd sold only adds fuel to the fire for shorters. I suggest you re-read square1's post 3430.
