I'm only a basic chartist, but to my untrained eye, that chart is looking very exciting to me.

Looking from the peak in June at 250p, we have formed what looks like a bowl formation. There is every chance for a swift move to 200p where I would expect resistence.

However, a good news announcement would give every possibility of rising quickly to the year highs.

Let's see what happens but very happy to have accumulated more over these past few months.

PS: Thanks once again to the bears for letting me add cheaper than I could have expected.

Good summary of SQM jointer. I wonder if maca1212 is busy weaving that into his computations . . .

Most disappointing.

Where are our posters pointing to the gap and drop.

The very chart they use, gave a bullish breakout signal on Friday, but no post mentioning it.

Was worried about the tornados in the Mid West, but we seem to have been lucky!

Johnc - OK, thanks, have complied. There are other links on that site of possible educational interest too (albeit rather strongly American!).

We're in the game for real, yes? I go back to it from time to time, in case there's something new.

My Mrs isn't for sale. But there are plenty with similar significant hot air capabilities around.

Generally they are expensive to run. If you get the right one, it is a good investment, but I know for some it has proved a very costly decision.

Does anyone know of any listed company that I could invest in that makes use of 'Air Source Heat Pump' technology. I believe there is massive potential in it.
Comments or advice would be most welcome.

A bit late in the day, but it just dawned on me after reading about a brine spill/leak with Oasis and the potential concerns etc.

IOF have mentioned how unusually clean the Atlantis produced water is, and that is why it can be easily cleaned for discharge into the Fresno reservoir and nearby rivers. That's what gained the rights swap agreement.

The evidence to show the lack of contaminants is in the photo section on IOFs website-:

Staff letting the water spray out onto the land around, and set alight to the gas that escapes.

If IOF's land were ever to become part of the oil scene with their acreage, I assume the Atlantis water could be used as it is.

Re IOFs industrial water application in Culbertson, Eastern Montana - Check out this article with particular regard to Culbertson & the nearby Oil hotspot little town of Bainsville -

Mancamps, labour shortages, major traffic increases - All pointers to increased Oil drilling activity in the area - Ultimately good news for the locals - And hopefully us.....

crazycoops, thanks for that. I would assume thats without IO#3,4,5,6 and water. If so we have a very long way to go.

I have been following SQM's progress (or rather regress) for the last year and I am just grateful that I never invested. Down 52% over the last 12 months

I forgot to mention it.

I found some Algorta data. For the first half of 2013, revenue v operating costs, shows opex at 70% of the revenue.

Prices were higher in the first half, so it seems their costs are around the $40 mark per kg

If I take iodine prices at $55 for that period, which is probably under the late 2012 to early 2013 price, it seems like they did just over 1000mt of sales/ production, which doesn't seem to fit the claims of what they would do.

It seems to me the Chile players are playing a game of bluff with each other.

sg thanks for taking the time to spell out what the competition have to face, as you say - it puts our few months delay, and production expansion into perspective!

Have a good week-end all - Mike
