Well that settles the date, and tells us presentations for insti's will be going on.

Hew

I wouldn't worry about that, it will be for new interested investors too.

Don't remember RNS mentions of presentations expressly for retail investors being a norm. Good for IOF.

Wonder if there will be a formal entry check on documentation as a shareholder. Need to get that organised.

che7: thanks for link. Interesting comment on Iodine prices from ioditech. Traditional view of Chile and Japan maintained: their risks and problems either not realised or tactfully omitted.

From this analysis Iofina might as well not exist, but it is 2013 after all and IOF will have little visible impact on iodine market until 2014. However IOF must be signing forward contracts for raw iodine right now.

Re derivatives market surely IOF are making an impact on IOditech and other derivatives suppliers already?

Is there an up to date list of IOF Chem's derivative product lines to compare with Ioditech's?

Retiree's quite correct. Stop talking about iodine like it's a harmless health food supplement that you should casually take. It's a poison and needs to be treated with great caution.

Not the first time this idiotic subject has been raised, dare say it won't be the last time either.

Looks like iodine in bread may make a comeback (well in the opposite end of the world at any rate):
Tendersearch says applications must be lodged by 2 October 2013 for work under a new contract with the Australian Department of Health. It wants to commission a survey on the effects of and compliance with mandatory requirements to use iodised salt and folic acid in bread making. This measure was rolled out in 2009 to combat iodine deficiencies and the incidence of spina bifida in newborn babies. The results are to be reported between November 2013 and April 2014.

I think we are all impatient at the moment because we've all got used to being spoilt with so much news in the (relatively) recent past.

In regards to the interrims. I suggest we will have a better idea tomorrow morning. Last year the interrims were on the 17th september, and on the 6th IOF released an RNS stating the release date. If its going to be the 17th again this year, we may find out tomorrow. At least we know that in the past IOF informed the market when to expect the results.

The best way to take iodine is in the share form, it makes you happy, nimble of brain, and light of ( pro tem. ) pocket, it also ecourages the reading of relevant notices and therefore stops you being bored and stagnating. VIVA IOFINA

'Will allow any new CEO',

I didn't say there was one yet! I am however quietly confident that our ship is being steered in confident hands at the moment.

'They' are wrong. :-). That was more about protecting 150 than anything else imo.

They may find it a little harder near term.

Re the team, I think someone said it, but if not, the CFO started on Tuesday, so it's building nicely.

Yes there are a lot of experienced guys in the team, and it's one of the factors which kept me digging in the early days.

One of the most reassuring aspects of IOF is the sheer quality of the BoD. Their collective resume is very impressive. One of my early concerns was how would IOF manage the process of going from a small lean company to a fast expanding one. It reminded me of when i left uni early 90's, working in the Thames valley in smallish software and marketing companies- uuuuurgh! - which had capital and enthusiasm for rapid growth, but underestimated the complexities fast growing environments create and reacted inappropriately, one of the common problems, which i'm sure we can all relate to, is too many middle managers! Once i saw the experience of the IOF board i realized they could handle much larger organizations than IOF even with years of expansion taken into account. Very safe hands.

Jagsta, that was from Tuesday. They obviously think interims will be poor. I am quietly confident we will get a nice surprise or two.

I too am glad for an end of month update on reflection. Will allow any new CEO to be more settled, as well as providing an accurate update on IO3 progress. Also hearing there may be a bit more brine to go to IO2, so with a bit of luck, we might be close to full capacity on IO2 by the end of the month, would be nice to get some new production guidance on that in the interims.

I've said it before, but imagine the picture four months from now. IO6 is commissioned and producing, along with IO1-5, giving us a daily production of approx 3MT plus hopefully. We are now at the delivery stage of the plan and the rollout is certainly gathering pace.

Good luck to all holders.

I would also prefer the results to be at the end of the month as I'll be around for any investor presentation if there are any. It would be good to chat to the new CEO or at lea
st other board members. Just can't wait for the other plants to come on line. GLA.

Roboben - The regulars here are amazing. Hopefully we can celebrate with them when IOF share price is over £10. I don't mind waiting I just hope we do not get taken out. Long term dividends would be great.

I have clogged up this thread too much so will drift into the background and enjoy the posts. Once again thanks to all for their help
