Che, as i said post fracking I have no issue with because IOF are not responsible for fracking, they simply extract the iodine. Its more the supplying water side that for me, starts to become morally grey. When i first did calculations i realised how much water for halliburton etc would add to the bottom line in the short-medium term. However as a fixed item it will represent progressively less of the companies revenue YOY. In the final analysis, the good that is iodine (just look at India and the problem of iodine deficiency) far outweighs the negative. Personally though, i wouldn't mind if IOF found a more acceptable customer for their water, even at a lower margin, the growth in iodine sales will more than make up for it. It would take a few years but eventually the sum would become negligable, especially compared to 200 plants pumping out Christ knows how much iodine.

Bogg1e,
As IOF will depend indirectly on fracking for extracting water as supply, perhaps you haven't thought through your investment here?

To me, that's a bit like saying I shouldnt drive a car as it uses oil. Or I could say I support fracking as it provides jobs, lowers energy costs for the country, brings employment and a better standard of life for families....

I'll just stick to IOF, it's more ethical than most investments IMHO.

If IOF makes half it's money from water next year and the share price doubles because of it, why don't you sell half your holding and give it to charity?

I suppose that would depend on the BoD and authorities. As I understand it the rights swap is flexible. No investment is squeaky clean I guess :-/

Sandbag, when i first bought in i thought the montana water prospect was for iodine extraction, due to the fact that iodine had been discovered there. It took me a while to get my head around the water rights issue. I like the company. I think its ace. I just didn't know enough about the water side cos i was focusing on understanding the iodine part. As for the nuclear aspect, what is it about vast amounts of radioactive material including uranium being pumped into the pacific that doesnt concern you? Especially as Iodine is an important chemical for dealing with radiation sickness. Are you literally mad or do you just believe what the main stream news tells you? Anyway I asked for a view, i got yours. Thanks.

Where do you usually get aggressive?

Bogg1e,

" Im becoming increasingly disenchanted with the idea of IOF supplying water for fracking. I bought in for the iodine growth story"

Then perhaps you should have done some meaningful research before you bought in! The water sales have never been hidden. You've complained about nuclear power (using totally wrong facts and emotive terms)now you're complaining about fracking. What's next -carbon capture? I've come to the opinion that you're a luddite. Please join the hippies camped in Balcombe and when thinking of your next investment read articles on this website:

I don't usually get aggressive online but you really make me angry. You've asked dozens if not hundreds of questions and now, finally, you're not happy.
All I can say to this is sell up and move on!

Just been checking out my latest copy of "Moneyweek" & noticed that Iofina are mentioned as a buy on their share tipsters page - The very same page where I first heard of the company about a year back - That mention brought me onto the mighty SG thread on ADVFN & after a bit of checking out that led to a very major family investment - Currently only sitting on a "mere" & approx 100% paper profit, although like a few here it was a great deal more.

There`s a renewed buzz kicking off re Iofina - Positivity is back - The city seems to be feeling it too - Normal share price trajectory to be resumed if the latest Moneyweek omen is to be believed & this time on rollout fact & not just future potential

Relative latecomers to the party & currently underwater should hopefully see their fortunes pick up dramatically in the next few months & join the rest of us happy followers in the black.......

Poised....yes. Nice to see the small spike at close instead of the normal sharp dip. Bodes well for next week imo.

These look poised looking at the ticker tape...

A break through 150p and the move will be swift. I expect results will be accompanied by a bullish update which should excite the market.

We have two 'test' plants in operation, about to put 4 more iodine plants into production in the next 4 months with an expected 5 fold increase in iodine production.

Then a doubling of plants next year.....

I believe anything under 200p is too cheap so I'm accumulating.
