Thanks Titus10.

Did you know the BTPS pot is worth roughly one and one half times the value of BT Group PLC?

Roboben,
Perhaps PIs have shares in various family members' accounts so the amount doesn't appear under one name.
Personally, my shares, thanks to the new ISA rules, are in 5 accounts in two names.

Roboben, my sentiments entirely.

I would also add my thanks to all the shorters. It has allowed me to enter IOF at a much lower price than I had anticipated.

Titus - fascinated that a holding of 350k makes it onto the list.

There are PIs associated with this board who have more than that! (Not me, sadly!)

Re the major holdings list, I abbreviated - it's British Telecom Staff Superannuation Scheme, if that matters.

Had hoped someone with ShareScope and image software would print the whole list.

Well, all I can say at this point is that the prospect of buying more while the price was in the 130s was too much to resist! Added some more yesterday morning and today it looks as though I've actually got my timing right! That'll be the first time for a long time that that's happened.

I was hoping for things to start moving up next week in anticipation of the interims, so today's movement is a real bonus.

Thanks to all the informative posters on here. Your hard work is appreciated.

That holdings list is an old one and shown as so, but covers a few.

John Nuttal was the unfortunate guy that passed away, and the shares were sold as part of his estate some time back.

I think that was around the same time as the Brightside guy sold his too, to build a war chest for a venture. Then we had the large holder who sold up all his portfolio, to flit off to Aus. Then ......

We try to keep track of things.

Does the name British Telecom even exist since the rebranding to BT Group?

The answer is no, and yes.

If you look at their bonds you'll see the good old fashioned;

72NS BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS PLC 5.75% BDS 17/12/28 £(VAR)(BR)

This is not uncommon, there are a few other classics out there.

Does BT Group PLC really have a stake here?

i think the next few trading days are going to see an increase in volume as t+10 and t+20 traders will be speculating on what is going to be in the results due mid september. i for one don't bother about the short term movements, never have. buy hold and add until it is time to leave. i research stocks every day and this is still the best i can find.

I think it's high risk and don't trust a word they say.

That test well early q1 result was without doubt highly misleading at best.

They still have yet to say anything significant on it. Count the number of wells actually being drilled in that rns, then compare what has been said in the last few.

The Chinese have had employee's in trying to copy it.

IMO and this is pure speculation. I can see GDL running form China and setting up in India, which is a far safer bet. It would mean shifting of the drill rigs and a whole new start up re staff employment and training.

China is a stupid place to display innovative tech imo, only one thing will happen.

Purely my opinion, and I sincerely hope GDL do very well, and get good returns for PI's.

agreed - hence the smileys. Like you say it will be interesting to watch. It's looking like most of the liquidity from the sales since black monday has dried up now. Not sure how easy it will be for Enismore to find 1.5m shares once the newsflow starts.

Not for me either I think IOF is a far safer bet. A USA operation or China its a no brainer IMO. IOF's position strengthens as each day passes. None the less Scrut able I respect your right to pay your money and take a chance.

Testuser I couldn't resist it. All harmless fun, we will see how fast they can run soon enough. Looks like some buyers are wanting in before the start of September.
