very interesting Activmojo.

For those too lazy to click....

A new solar system
Solar panels have traditionally been made with silicon, over which China has had majority market control. Eager to limit China's stranglehold over the solar market, countries have been searching for a different way to harness the sun. Now, Japanese engineers "believe they have found one in a type of solar cell that looks and feels like camera film," according to The Wall Street Journal. The new cell uses perovskite, a crystalline structure formed by minerals that convert sunlight into electricity. The perovskite cell was invented by Japanese scientist and Toin University of Yokohama professor Tsutomu Miyasaka.

Iodine is the key element used to manufacture the solar film, of which Japan is the world's second largest producer.

Seems like a nice new growth market to support the iodine price.

Happy to hold for years here. Steady, boring, value add, chemicals. They just need to be a bit more dynamic about new supply.

So, imagine the share price if there was a sustained buyback in place.

With only 139k traded (allegedly) I am not sure anything is rumbling and wonder if the stock situation is just that right that a bit of buying causes some share price movement

I don't want a buyback. At least dividends would encourage more stable investors and indicate clear confidence in the company's overall financial situation and general position

I’m hoping we get a pre-audit trading update in next couple of weeks to confirm the levels of EBITDA. Hopefully they can update on the Capex and cash position.

Last year it was on Feb 6th.

I can only assume Beer you want a spike NOW so you can sell out…

So we do a buy back and then stop buying back, I think it’s likely the price would just fall back again, why wouldn’t that happen? Is it worth it? Or would you be happy because you would sell out on the spike?

Is that any good for long term holders? Should we want the company to buy back shares and create a spike, meaning they will then have bought back almost at a premium for many of them? I don’t think so.

I appreciate that’s not how it works all the time…

Looks to me like there are 2 notifications in one in there, firs of 3% from Feb 2023 and the second of 5% from Nuly 2023, listed. Ewestfirst in the announcement.
Seems Iof were notified on those dates and didn’t notify the market!

Reading this again my interpretation is that this declaration was meant to have been disclosed in July last year when they first crossed 5%. It looks like they have since gone up to 6.4%.

I imagine this might have been picked up in an end of year audit hence being reported retrospectively.

Activmojo, not sure if they have been trading but the RNS shows an upward trend over the last year.
Feb 2023 3.01%
Jul 2023 5.03%
Jan 2024 6.4%

So, looks good to me :)

Company need to offer investors something, at the moment its same old same old plodding along, making sure there is enough money to pay their salaries each month...

SP will be 30p in 10 years...that's if we are still here...way the world is going.
