05/9/2014 09:13 | Would good production figures "loom"? Surely they'd go "ta daaaaah"? | king_roster_iii
05/9/2014 08:53 | Thought that would do it:-) | engelo
05/9/2014 08:40 | Agree with those who see good August figures looming behind the timing of TB's appointment.Strange no trades: must have been well known to the market. Buyers and sellers in the wings waiting for the main course IMO. | engelo
05/9/2014 08:29 | Was that a trade.... no just tumbleweed | king_roster_iii
05/9/2014 07:55 | Perhaps best to see new CEO of Chemical. Else more difficult for TB to broaden horizons and take whole operation forward rather than seeing Resources as a feeder to Chem and selling the surplus as a secondary aspect. | hew
05/9/2014 07:46 | A good appointment. Safe hands and with a wealth of in-depth knowledge of the industry, the company, it's culture, and Lance's plans. Very pleased. This should reassure the markets that the company is not just a "one man band". A man with suspect health at that. Good times ahead for both the company, in terms of continued roll-out of the business plan in a sensible fashion, and shareholders, from the point of view of an appreciating share price, I suspect. | roboben
05/9/2014 07:37 | Yeah, you would not announce a new CEO straight into bad news or missed guidance. Well unless you really don't like him ;-) Sounds like a sensible choice although to be honest things have been going pretty well so just hope nothing notable changes. GLA | 1madmarky
05/9/2014 07:34 | Dr. Becker is a current Executive Director of the Company and the President/CEO of Iofina Chemical, Inc. Presumably he will continue to retain the CEO position of Iofina Chemical Inc...? | orslega
05/9/2014 07:30 | so no comment from Tom in RNS; clearly (or hopefully) a record production month for August is being saved for his maiden speech as CEO : ) Monday coming? | orslega
05/9/2014 07:28 | Agree captain, I think we can definitely expect good figures out now, they wouldn't want his first rns to be a bad one, excellent news. | woodpeckers
05/9/2014 07:20 | Only question is! Was what I meant to say. | jasisdad
05/9/2014 07:20 | Very good news. The right man for the job. Good time to report good August production figures with the new CEO at the helm :@) | captain_kurt
05/9/2014 07:20 | New CEO. Only question iambic he was the ideal candidate - why did he not get the job last time? Pleased that an "Iodine" man has been appointed though. | jasisdad
05/9/2014 07:17 | Good news in my book! | soggy
05/9/2014 07:12 | Phew Someone that will keep the wheel turning and not try to reinvent it. No surprises there though, the bookie stopped taking bets months back. | superg1
05/9/2014 07:04 | The Cosayach sea water pipeline project. The report is from April 2012 and followed on form their 2011 well closures, obviously their patience got the better of them and they decided to steal water again. The named company is just one of their subsidiaries. The key point I wanted to find was the pumping rate which is 250 litres per second. That's nowhere near the level they would need to get back to the levels they produced pre 2011. I believe the EIA transport $5.5m part is the matter SQM are trying to block through the courts. It's just all a game of trying to disrupt each other and delay things. The good news is that Cosayach will end up using seawater which means a material rise in their operating costs. I don't expect the project to be completed for a while. The report Minera Copiapó has submitted an EIA for a US$5.5mn project to transport 250l/s of seawater from a holding pool currently under construction to the Negreiros-Chinquiqui The project is the phase II of a larger initiative to supply seawater to non-metallic operations in northern region I. The US$13mn phase I part of the project already received environmental approval at the beginning of this year. Construction of phase I is currently under way and it consist of a pumping system to transfer 250l/s of seawater from the coast through 14km of pipeline to a holding pool some 1.19km above sea level in the region's Tamarugal province. Construction of phase II, involving a 20km pipeline and two pumping stations, will commence once phase I begins operating. | superg1

04/9/2014 18:39 | Best to travel optimistically I always say, although my alter ego Job the Despondent tells me otherwise. | gadolinium
04/9/2014 18:26 | Thanks gad, I appreciate we are only just into September so virtually impossible tell what the month holds. I'm an optimistic type though! :-) | woodpeckers
04/9/2014 18:19 | Phoenixs, Various grades are imported into India, I try to limit my figures to 99.5% material since this is the 'usual' article of commerce material and is the grade monitored by Industrial Minerals magazine in their price surveys. In the August issue of Industrial Minerals (the last copy I had access to) they revised spot prices for 99.5% crystal drums to $36-40/kg for spot price and $37-43/kg for contract, obviously a fairy wide range. In the previous month they gave prices of $37-40/kg spot price and $38-45/kg for contract. According to Laura Syrett European and South American suppliers told her their lower range was 'edging to $36kg' although some prices were 'still holding on to the low $40s'. I assume the higher price would be for higher purity grades and/or prilled. I agree at the moment we are probably consuming most of our iodine in-house at the moment. | gadolinium
04/9/2014 17:00 | Just looking at that link you posted gad, and it looks to me as though the average price per unit is curving up on the Sept 2014 bar on the chart or am I misunderstanding it? Also found this site which you experts may or may not already be aware of (I'm guessing the former) which gives detail of orders/prices etc. | woodpeckers
04/9/2014 16:55 | GB Pound is continuing its decline against the US dollar, which is good for UK investors in IOF. Drop from 1.72ish to 1.64ish current. | rhwillcoll |
