While I wait for an update on ATUK, have a look at SDI -

another article highlighting that existing methods of detecting proteins on the surgical instruments are ineffective and that this will be changed in the NHS guidelines as well. SDI uses the new to be recommended NHS guidelines to detect proteins - Detection using fluorescence

The problem of protein: how clean is 'clean'? - Feb 2013

The above article makes reference to ProReveal - the SDI detection tool which was launched in Dec-2012

See the SDI thread for details......

FUM looking to a decent price on the chart, and with the year end results/update next week .

Worth a look.

FUM are not good on timings, but this next update should hopefully spell out the future and may create renewed interest.

I don't think alot of PET500, which is due to launch and I have no fears if it doesn't.

CSD progress re partners could be of interest and timings re the CE mark which will be a formality (already had it but a change of manufacturing location means a resubmission on some points).

MED (basically a viagra like OTC gel) is now back with them and for them to prgress).

Possible updates re TPR pain gel with Glaxo(topical). In vitro studies put bioavailability at 40 times the best out there.

If they have learned their lesson hopefully they will go for some up front cash this time.

Skylite, my old man has his own solar business in Florida a couple of years ago, decided to close it down as was struggling just to breakeven. You managed to find any links confirming the government subsidising solar over in the states?

Scrutable - An interesting distinction on the type of IP that is likely to be secure rather than ripped off and exploited.

I must confess that it's been my concerns over IP security that has kept me out of China related companies (and specifically GDL) up till this point.

I've been looking at future boom industies over the last day or 2 and a friend who owns a company actually gave me some information which I found quite compelling.

My friend owns a solar company (private and commercial), he's had the boom over the last 5 years and expects it to contunue a few more. The interesting fact he gave me was that federal and state legislation (and huge amounts of funding) have just come to pass in the US; basically the same thing will happen there as happened in the UK only on a much much bigger scale.

I started to look into the various aspects of providing and self generating power through solar and one big differences is the cost of the homes v cost of getting solar panels. No one in an average 450k dollar home will spend 50/60k on solar panels. The boom looks to be coming in solar leasing and a Californian company called Sun Run took my eye. They've gone from only a few customers to a 120k in no time, have full order books and are branching more into commercial where they can do in on one site what they do in a 100 homes. They have major funders and are in a prime position to ride this boom. From what I can gather they get an RII of nearly 21% and 20 years of lease money thereafter on each installation.

They are not a public copmany yet but may go down that road this year or next. Perhaps one to keep an eye on and more detailed research neeeded but still it's an industry that will expand massively in the next decade.

I don't expect China to mess GDL around, seize its assets etc because it's a service company. Quite another matter when they can steal IP and manufacture with it.

From the marketing point of view, which is where I start from and am therefore a year ahead of traditional investors who read and rely on the Financial results, GDL have a vast market open to them and lead the industry on performance. The local competition is drilling vertically and thus getting poor yields.

I expect one of the Chinese clients will buy them out as soon as they absorb GDl's methodology and I'll move on but I am already 200% up in two months on my earliest purchases

Agreed SG,
I am still gathering funds to re-invest in IOF, but will wait for the next rns. I may have to pay more, but have plenty of profits here and it will still be a very good buy as the price should be in multipes of today's price in a couple of years time.

Roger that pleases me. I thought it had too far too fast, with it's debt and losses predicted.

You probably spotted Lib and I with our 'head scratching' comments. I didn't like to go on about it with you invested in it.

I must consider following the logic one day and short what look like shares ahead of short term profits.

Jb

Thanks I had noticed the dribble back, hut haven't had time to look.

I'm praying for the day that the PR machine starts on IOF then I can take a break. It's impressive to see the courage of some to invest when compared to the rns info.

As for GDL and not a deramp, just opinion, it's in China, and I don't trust China not to rip off the IP. They did it with VW engines recently.
I also think the last rns is suspect, and they won't answer the point I raise.

It should do well, but too many investors currently that expect big things news wise very near term. If that doesn't happen I suspect some teddy throwing will start. Logic supports my thoughts.

I'll be watching closely as there is some action to be had there, but some currently invested, may do a herd exit and that's my fear, for that one.

I never call against my logic, so losing out doesn't bother me if I'm wrong, and I've had a 'lucky' run on that front.

I sold out of OCG at 165p earlier in the week. Still plenty to go for and may buy back in but I am in a cash gathering mode at the moment. Some of the proceeds will be for IOF.

Jamonit - I would re-read your words and inwardly digest. High risk=high losses 9 times out of 10.

you are certainly onto an interesting share performer at QFI which has been rising consistently inside a 97%/pa share price channel since August.

The only reason I am not invested there is that it does not tick one of my fundamental risk reducing filters. It is still a pre-commercial ie still does not have revenues. That was the main reason I failed in previous attempts to earn consistent returns. The cohort of pre-commercials has a decisively higher risk of failures, and is certainly more volatile - potentially lethal when leveraged and dangerously loss bearing when using stops
