09/9/2024 22:13 | The cost of Li battery was set to fall and energy density was set to improve. Reading between the lines what may be undoing ambitions here is the cost of vanadium pentox, which is the dominant component. Waiting for high volume supply which is an order of magnitude cheaper, from developing US or AUS sources, means Invinity can't launch a market-storming Mistral until production partners catch up. | marktime1231
09/9/2024 18:34 | I posted this link before...its worth reading and deliberating...it might have got zulch sacked ...standing up and telling the truth ...what was he thinking about!!!! This is the crux of the matter now... Zulch came clean in july aboit the costs? Whats the innovation he refers to that can sell batteries. Maybe it doesnt exist?? This is very concerning and even more concerning is they cant sell at the low current v Price...the long term v price is c $35 its now less than $25 and they still cant make hay ...excuse after excuse...theres a huge saving that might not be here next year...its gloomy when.you consider this angle . | megaman2
09/9/2024 18:11 | Not convinced about that. Lithium has a serious fire hazard / toxic fumes reputation, which is an issue most particularly in built up industrial and/or residential areas. The frequency of these events will most likely increase as the number of installations increase all over the world, so even with the cost of lithium coming down, providers of lithium BES systems may encounter increasing difficulties in future and I expect there will be more objections from the general public when planning applications for more and bigger installations are submitted. | vatnabrekk
09/9/2024 17:42 | A few years ago it would have been reasonable to assume vanadium flow would compete with lithium on price for medium duration storage, hence the mistral development programme. Unfortunately for IES shareholders, the cost of lithium batteries has declined faster than expected, hence the desperation to reduce costs. I think you’ve backed the wrong horse. | columbarius
09/9/2024 15:32 | In Shetland SSEN's lithium battery system has been rejected by the local council and passed to the Scottish Govt. for a decision. It seems to have got stuck there. | vatnabrekk
09/9/2024 15:00 | Depends on their timescale. Utility and infrastructure companies look much longer term. Also depends on planning. Whilst LFP has attained approval already there is still resistance so this may be a factor in some cases, particularly very close to towns/cities. | aja2
09/9/2024 14:49 | They might have difficulty selling Mistral if the upfront cost is higher than lithium, even though the cost over the life of the project is lower, and unlike lithium there is no fire hazzard. I think it would take a brave CEO to commit to a BES system that costs more at the outset. | vatnabrekk
09/9/2024 14:29 | My wild speculation following Fridays shocker. Marren landed the UKIB deal. With support from UKIB and Schroeder's he was able to dispose Zilch and the Avalon leadership. Strategy changed to focus fully on Mistral optimisation and profitability. Loss making VS3 proof of concept discontinued now technology proven. Companies future now safely UK centric as demanded by UKIB. All to play for. No way on earth that RNS was released without consultation with the major shareholders. Nothing has actually changed regarding funding and the road to profitability. Soft roll out of Mistral makes total sense. | indiestu

09/9/2024 08:58 | Weren't the PI mugs rushing in to buy this on Friday because they were reasoning that the company was worth the same as it's cash pile, forgetting of course that the cash pile is going down and is not an asset as such. I've read through the update again, I didn't find it a good read. | owenski
09/9/2024 08:40 | Non-stop classic treeshake to allow the IIs who missed out on the oversubscribed treeshake in on the cheap. Typical MMs! | kemche

09/9/2024 06:36 | Thats not correct. They Will have £40 mill year end. Thats not going to vanish by september. £18 mill Will be used to stake 90 mwh...so either they Will have £18 mill in the bank or a minimum of 90 mwh completed orders ..if harris wins USA election which is a coin flip the 84 mwh Will complete to...worst case scenario they Will have well into 2026 before they need Cash. My bet is mistral Will launch on time end of year with evdura 11 mwh also & there Will be a significant rally. Talk of years delay is nonsense . Clear trolling. I have been firmly critical of ies and on proven justified grounds. Mostly calling for zulch gone im more positive now and envisage a staircase up for the share price to the end of the year at least back to 20p.dyor gla. The vs3 is being produced at positive margin .its the admin cost that are causing the loss. 300 mwh is break even Yes its a long way but Canada & uk alone have 700 mwh capacity i think it Will be revealed shortly that USA Will take that to c 1gwh. | megaman2
09/9/2024 06:20 | Mate you seriously need to wake up and smell the coffee Current battery tech is hugely loss making, mistral is years away from being launched that is if they can get the costs down and all the while Cash is dwindling super fast that this time next year they'll be hitting you with another deeply discounted placing so take that super fast dwindling cash out of the valuation | hamidahamida
09/9/2024 04:03 | Flown out to Australia for a few weeks. Just got internet this morning. What did I miss? 🙃 | doctorbgreg
08/9/2024 11:20 | Always look on the bright side! | vatnabrekk
08/9/2024 10:47 | When the cash in the bank is the same as the value of the company it means whatever the company does or its assets are in it for free. I am now sadly somewhere at the bottom of the Atlantic with my shares on this company but I added 50,000 at 12p on Friday and would add more if the cash was available. On the good side, my wife says im now not worth divorcing and my kids think its not worth bumping me off for my assets. Hey Ho gives me a bit of breathing space. | ivyhedge
08/9/2024 07:34 | Should see a bounce upwards tomorrow | the codger
