Happy to hear, I must say your site has gone leap&bounds since last year, you have about 1000 more products then you did last year.

Its not the affiliate links that are down, its the mytravel booking engine that is down, mytravel will be desperate to get it back running by jan

online sales are really booming, more this year then before.

Ask nigel, Sold a few pair of shoes for him over the last few days (nothing much(, pretty amazed that people buy shoes online.

On the a4uforum, someone questioned the downtime of mytravel groups, the reply was that December the travel market drops dead, so some sigh of relief.

Funny you should ask THB, cos I've been in MDX for ages and yes, very happy about recent performance. But no, I did mean MRX (Metalrax) which has just taken a mighty fall from grace, bought in at 20.25p today and am happy to see a bit of a bounce straight away!

Coffeelito - did you mean MRX or MDX - Meldex has been a star performer for me in the last month. Great prospects!!!

Still very long IBG and will look to add in the New Year - the Xmas online shopping and post Xmas travel bookings should do lots to help boost the turnover and profits.

Keeping an eye on them though.

Well, I've sold quite a few shares in IBG over last few trading days, including today, and it seems the share price has held up pretty well. Also note that there seems to be a buy of 200k shares today, although this could be mm juggling. But perhaps there is a faint stirring of life in this sp, despite what the chap said about no action until Jan/Feb. I retain a good many IBG shares so would be as glas as anyone to see a rise. My sales were for catching other opportunities, like MRX, that were too good to miss.

However, the very slow increase in the number of US merchants is disappointing as it could inidicate that they are failing to achieve the hoped for penetration of the US market.

Have a peep at buy.at on the abestweb forum and see how many merchants they have, it seems that the us market has matured some what.

I would say that at 639 UK merchants they should have pretty good coverage of the online retail sector and the focus will be on improving quality on merchants rather than increasing numbers. Also they seem to be heavily targetting the travel sector which I think is a smart move as that is a vast online market and one in which good affilaiate marketing supported by good technology can really help the consumer save time in finding what they want at a good price.

However, the very slow increase in the number of US merchants is disappointing as it could inidicate that they are failing to achieve the hoped for penetration of the US market.

Overall I think IBG is looking very undervalued at present. Online retail is still growing at a phenomenal rate in the UK and they are so well placed to take advantage of that growth.

my opinion:

Lots of travel related merchants have joined since a year ago. They seemed to have been focussing just on travel related merchants and then relized that they need the norm merchants as well, so now we are seeing reg merchants joining.

Thanks andnmand but still the numbers seem to have stagnated since Jul.
What's the general feeling out there with regards to the quality of the merchants and the volume. Have any of you got some first hand experience?

Merchant numbers updated for the end of November, lots of merchants leaving but as already mentioned a lot of that was mobile merchants closing or turning into affiliates themselves and still a healthy number of new merchants.   UK USA EURO Total OUT IN CHANGE Sep-06 555 129 17 701 24 29 5 Oct-06 571 142 18 731 25 55 30 Nov-06 590 149 19 758 33 60 27 Dec-06 602 151 20 773 10 25 15 Jan-07 611 155 22 788 26 41 15 Feb-07 620 161 24 805 22 39 17 Mar-07 623 158 24 805 50 50 0 Apr-07 635 158 28 821 28 44 16 May-07 642 168 31 841 32 52 20 Jun-07 662 173 35 870 20 49 29 Jul-07 665 168 36 869 43 42 -1 Aug-07 667 157 41 865 52 48 -4 Sep-07 661 166 45 872 43 50 7 Oct-07 659 169 48 876 52 56 4 Nov-07 639 170 55 864 74 62 -12
