12/3/2008 13:43 | Definitely feels like squeaky bum time at MED. Market cap is 12, cash around 6 at end of February, with more grants to come in. I wish I knew what "profitable on a month to month basis in the second half" meant. Profitable from July? Cash burn at MED has been around 600k per month last year, so they have to start getting things right. I also thought they were shipping last year, (albeit in limited quantities, due to supplier issues), but turnover was pretty much nothing. Previously announced orders presumably haven't been filled, but would they let us know if they were cancelled? I'm hanging on until the AGM which I will be attending, with a big list of questions!!!!! | naeclue

29/2/2008 08:33 | MicroEmissive posts FY loss; on track to be profitable in H2 2008 LONDON (Thomson Financial) - MicroEmissive Displays Group PLC reported a pretax loss though it more than doubled its revenue for the period and said it is still on track to be profitable during the second half of 2008. The AIM listed designer and manufacturer of low power light emitting polymer displays posted a pretax loss of 6.2 mln stg for the year to Dec 31, 2007, from a pretax loss of 6.3 mln stg earlier. Stripping out a 0.9 mln stg tax credit related to R&D costs in 2004 and 2005 the pretax loss was 7.11 mln stg. The company said the 2007 loss included additional salary costs and raw material costs associated with the ramping up of the Dresden manufacturing facility. Revenues jumped to 65,000 stg from 31,000 stg reported in the year-ago period. MicroEmissive Displays Group said it is looking forward to the coming year with confidence. 29/2/2008 08:05 | Final results issued today: So I guess they didn't slip on the results, just on the announcement on when they'd release the result. Spec'd in all over the place, but no sales to speak of for last year. Presumably as products launch and ramp up for MED customers, sales take off. Perhaps not the best year for a loss of consumer confidence, but hopefully enough there as is. 6.2 million at hand at the end of the year, anticipating profitability from July. | naeclue
27/2/2008 12:52 | well someone dumped 50k at 38p early this morning | callumross
27/2/2008 11:43 | From the trading update on 21 Dec "The Company will announce its preliminary results for the year ending 31 December 2007 in the second half of February 2008." So that's slippage and that's bad. A company that manages an error of at least 2 weeks in a 2-month prediction in the release of its own results doesn't quite seem to be on the ball. Such lapses only offer opportunity to murder the share price in a news vacuum. | pawdaw
26/2/2008 16:55 | 17th and 22nd of feb last year for announcement and results, so a fortnight behind, possibly. | forthurst
26/2/2008 16:39 | Accounts finally got back to me, and apologized for the delay, explained that they were just over run sending out all those invoices..... Sadly not. What they did say was that an RNS should be issued next week to set the date of the release of the final results. Back to sleep for me, still think these guys have a shot. | naeclue
26/2/2008 11:59 | yep, it would be nice to hear some news soon - this has taking a bit of a nosedive recently and I'm tempted to sell up and lock-in some profit before it's all gone. It wouldn't take much bad news to kill this completely. :-( | thecurrymonster
26/2/2008 10:55 | thanks NaeClue. Keeping us informed | friars3
26/2/2008 09:23 | Final results were about this time last year, I'll give them a shout and see if there is a date planned for those. December release stated that they foresaw month to month profitability going forward. | naeclue

10/2/2008 10:50 | I spotted this in the Sunday Times last week, just got to do some looking on the net today. It's asking for "lead users", you get to test a pair of Carl Zeiss Cinemizer video glasses for 14 days if you're selected. I haven't done any more than paste the link but somebody could look deeper and see what is behind the product and if it's related to, or in competition with, MED. This link gives a video clip..... EDIT (taken from the Q & A page on the site) Can I already buy the cinemizer? The cinemizer will be available in Germany at selected GRAVIS outlets beginning in February/March 2008. | wild bill
06/2/2008 08:26 | Interesting article here - written by Ian Underwood, so definitely biased, but an interesting read nevertheless: Video glasses, or personal displays, are set to be the next big thing. The market for the delivery of information and entertainment on the move is predicted to follow personal audio as one of the fastest growing sectors of the electronics industry... ...portable multimedia players are successes. Apple has sold more than 100million iPods worldwide a growing fraction of them video enabled and, in its wake, have come hundreds of competitors. The latest update of Sony's PSP, meanwhile, has a tv out socket.... ...Sales of video phones with powerful capabilities are predicted grow to about $125billion by 2010 from nearly $58bn in 2006, and the number of subscribers to mobile tv and video is expected to increase to 58.6m in 2010. | thecurrymonster
03/2/2008 14:35 | The market will be there - will MED lead it - that is the question.... | unionhall
