SonoLystlive now standard on Voluson Expert Series

So, what's the chance of GEHC changing supplier? Zero?

So even if income per machine sold is a bit less than when SLL was an option, we now have greater volume, and far greater revenue security.

I must admit, the reaction in the share price is very disappointing so far today.

Thank you all posters for these updates, this board for IUG is genuinely how BB's should be but rarely are, a source of good information.
I added to my holding this week after reading these posts.

Dear IR at IUG,

I write as a private investor holding IUG shares through a nominee account with Halifax SD.

I notice on a financial bulletin board today a post suggesting that the GEHC website has SonoLystlive appearing on Voluson Expert 20/22 as a standard product feature rather than an option.

Can you confirm this?

Will this potentially lead to greater sales income for IUG?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Intelligent Ultrasound Group PLC

17 November 2023

SonoLystlive, powered by Intelligent Ultrasound's ScanNav AI, now standard on the new GE HealthCare Voluson Expert Series 22 and 20 ultrasound machines

Intelligent Ultrasound Group plc (AIM: IUG), the 'classroom to clinic' ultrasound company, specialising in artificial intelligence (AI) software and simulation, announces that GE HealthCare's SonoLystlive software, that is powered by Intelligent Ultrasound's ScanNav AI, is now a standard feature on its latest versions of the Voluson Expert Series portfolio of ultrasound machines, the Expert 22 and Expert 20.

Powered by Intelligent Ultrasound's ScanNav AI software, SonoLystlive takes ultrasound image recognition to the next level by automatically capturing images in real time, as the clinician scans a mid-trimester patient. Using practice guidelines from the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG), the AI software automatically recognises the anatomy, captures the image and checks it off the list of required views. By minimising the need to manually freeze, annotate and store images, the software significantly reduces keystrokes and exam time for sonographers.

This new technology further builds on Intelligent Ultrasound's long-term partnership agreement with GE HealthCare, which also incorporates Intelligent Ultrasound's AI technology as an option add-on in its SonoLyst X/IR software on the Voluson SWIFT ultrasound machine.

It is currently too early to fully assess the impact on the Company's 2024 clinical AI revenue forecasts of SonoLystlive moving from an option upgrade -- with a higher reward, but higher risk of uptake -- to a more predictable revenue stream.

Stuart Gall, CEO of Intelligent Ultrasound, commented: "We are delighted that, by incorporating SonoLystlive as a standard feature onto its Voluson Expert 22 and 20 ultrasound machine GE HealthCare is leading the way in using AI software to improve obstetric workflows for the benefit of clinicians and patients. The Voluson Expert Series is a market-leading ultrasound machine in the global women's healthcare obstetrics market and SonoLystlive is a fantastic example of how AI software can help save scanning time, whilst de-stressing the scanning environment for the sonographer.

We remain excited that our novel 'classroom-to-clinic' approach is making clinical diagnostic ultrasound easier to learn and simpler to use."

Fantastic news ... The Expert series sells between 3,000 and 3,500 units a year

However, what in now clear from this news and it is the really exciting bit is that versions (differing levels of functionality) of Sonolyst are likely to be added as standard to all Voluson machines overtime. They sell @ 15,000 units a year and I suspect when all of the Sonolyst products are rolled out across the whole fleet we will be looking at an average royalty of @US$650 to US$750 per unit sold. It will take a few years but we are looking at a US$10million+ annual royalty stream from GE Healthcare. Also worth keeping in mind that as royalty revenue this is essentially 100% gross margin.

The other products will include both first trimester and third trimester exams. We then have the second agreement in Women's health which has also be signed but they have yet to disclose the focus/functionality.

Plenty more AI products behind this we know about

ScanNav PNB (in market)
Needle Trainer (in market)
Tube Placement (*from patent info)
Gestational Age (*from patent info)
Liver Disease (*recent research collaboration)

And a few we can only guess at as patents have been applied for but not granted yet, some maybe overlapping patents for same product.

* Whole-target image capture apparatus and method
* Image processing method and apparatus
* Method and apparatus for assisting an ultrasound operator
* A method of detecting a potential abnormality (Detecting organic movements or changes, e.g. tumours, cysts, swellings involving foetal diagnosis; pre-natal or peri-natal diagnosis of the baby)
* Apparatus and method for monitoring a medical procedure (this appears to be a camera that will ensure a medical procedure is carried out on the correct side of the body- one would assume nerve block as a starting point)

This is great input, I am staggered that no one is picking up on it, rather similar to Verici, a blood testing company re transplant rejections which announced a deal with Thermofisher yesterday & the stock nearly doubled.
One would think that the company broker would be all over this (public) info like a cheap suit, but not a peep...

Hi 40F, sorry I doubted your original post 265.

"A bit of an update on the Voluson Expert and sonolyst/sonolyst live.

See the link below to an FDA 510K approval letter taken from the FDA database, note it was only issued on 30th October 2023. For the relevant bits for us look at page 4 & page 10 onwards.

This would seem to indicate that we are very close to a launch of the new Voluson Expert range with Sonolyst Live incorporated as a standard feature."
