22/9/2023 09:44 | I have quite a lot on this topic now ... but for the moment to avoid overloading the BB I will just post one more that shows battlefield medicine has always been in their thoughts. "Ultrasound- guided regional anaesthesia also has the potential to be employed more widely, for example, by nurse anaesthetists, emergency medicine physicians, armed forces/battlefield medical practitioners and those treating pain in the chronic pain clinic or palliative care." Authors J. Bowness and D. Burckett-St Laurent are now both connected IUG. | 40 fathoms
22/9/2023 09:01 | Just to give some sense of the size of the Ultrasound orders the US Military does place .... they currently have a solicitation out in the market for the developement of a field portable ultrasound system ... the initial contract estimate is for 3,500 units with another 3,500 units to be expected as a follow on order. | 40 fathoms
22/9/2023 08:11 | I see what you say, this could be way better than I ever guessed. I always saw the potential but the potenrial military usage had not occured to me. Thanks for your post | bmcollins
22/9/2023 08:03 | 40F, Thanks, very interesting. Need to absorb! BTW, you can email management with questions at any time! | bamboo2
22/9/2023 05:58 | I still do not have the final conclusive proof but the circumstantial evidence (mosaic theory) is very, very strong. I have a lot more than this but I want to keep this post to a somewhat sensible length. It is worth reading the whole article which starts on on page 12 but it the first column of page 15 that should arouse interest. If you then go on to search the crietia assigned to the research teams CRT5 and CRT6 (it is also mentioned in the article) you will see the importance to them of ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia. Importantly, they are looking for something that is FDA approved and they attach significant importance to the Femoral Nerve Block. It is worth noting that when we first got FDA approval for ScanNav PNB it excluded the Femoral Block, it is equally important to note that (this year) we have now obtained FDA approval for Femoral Block. If you do read the criteria of what they are looking for, as of today we would be the only group worldwide that could provide that product. There is a Turkish start up Nerveblox that is working on a similar product, but they are years behind and are still working on validation studies to support an FDA approval (they have a CE mark). All other things being equal, even if they were to meet the qualification criteria today I suspect the DOD would be more inclined to support us over a Turkish start up. It is also interesting to note that over the last 18 months Intelligent Ultrasound have started attending specialist Military medicine exhibitions. If they were to win an order from the DOD it would be for a very large number of units almost certainly measured in the 1,000s and this would most likely be followed by other orders from NATO aligned countries.... This is in nobody's models at the moment but there is a decent chance in the next 18 to 24 months we could some very large orders, for ScanNav PNB and ScanNav trainer from the Department of Defense and others. Even if we worked on 1,000 Scannav PNB units (one would assume they would need to adapted to be used in harsh conditions)and 20 Scannav trainers the list price for that kit alone would be in excess of US$15,000,000 million. Something for us to keep and eye on perhaps or maybe a question for management when they next report. | 40 fathoms
21/9/2023 16:50 | Interestingly JW & Paul Hill on vox & on youtube (hot stocks with Paul & Justin) which started at 12.00 today are puffing IUG again with PH drawing attention to the Gates foundation donation. Despite this puffing the stock seems pretty immobile at present, I guess these guys are more effective in moving prices in a bull market... | bmcollins
20/9/2023 14:53 | @40 Fathoms You are quite correct, I just suffered this drivel on youtube and it was totally unimpressive, I certainly would not like to be a member of that share pickers club, a fast way to lose interest in investment strategies is my bet. Nevertheless, for other reasons I do like this stock & my guess is that when sentiment changes, which it will, this stock offers good gearing into the upswing, very likely to be taken out. I hope they can stay out of GE's clutches for a while yet as we are really just at the start of the journey into making proper profits, in cash not ebitda ones... | bmcollins
20/9/2023 01:26 | I post this reluctantly as I am not a fan, but nevertheless it sets out the investment case for IUG. If this video demonstrates the level of knowledge about IUG and the extent of the DD that has done then it is a pretty sad state of affairs. In my opinion the FSA need to crackdown hard on the pumping by Finfluencers .... even if they are trying to pump a stock I hold. | 40 fathoms
19/9/2023 10:54 | Hi 40F, I have worked through your links and some other paperwork, but still find it a struggle to see how IUG directly benefit from the GEHC/Caption news. I am certain you know far more about the co. than I do, and would welcome any further evidence if you turn anything up. The grant itself is considerable in size, so wouldn't be surprised to see GEHC bringing in extra help. Once more details on the grant become available on the Gates's website, we may be able to determine the facts with more certainty. Cheers. | bamboo2
18/9/2023 23:34 | The reasons I think it might include us ….. I note the following conflict of interest statements and funding statements. I also note that we have recently filed Gestational Age patents. IUG is well known to the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. “Conflict of interest statement J.A.N. and A.T.P. are Senior Scientific Advisors of Intelligent Ultrasound Ltd. All other authors declare that they have no competing interests or other interests that might be perceived to influence the results and/or discussion reported in this paper.” “Grant support INV-000368/Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation)” I also note the following from 2019 “Intelligent Ultrasound announces it is working with the Household Air Pollution Intervention Network (HAPIN) trial to provide quality control of fetal ultrasound images. The work is led by principal investigators at Johns Hopkins, Emory and Colorado State Universities and is funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the National Institutes for Health (NIH).” And this where I would draw your attention to the funding section. Prof Papargeorghiou is of course the person that launched sonolystlive to the world last week and Aris co-founded the Oxford University spin-out, Intelligent Ultrasound. www.wrh.ox.ac.uk/tea | 40 fathoms
18/9/2023 20:17 | I'm not sure the Caption Health/GE news will include us. Caption already had a three year grant from B&M Gates. This looks like an extension, aimed at Ultrasound gear much further down the range than Voulson Expert. I think they are aiming at handhelds, displaying via smartphone etc, rather than clinic based hardware. GEHC must have paid $100m+ for Caption. I wonder if this new grant was known about before the deal went through? Obviously I am happy to be wrong. If it is going to make a difference to IUG, I would guess it would warrant an RNS. | bamboo2
18/9/2023 17:28 | @40 Fathoms A very interesting spot, thanks for this | bmcollins

18/9/2023 15:27 | This is most interesting and it covers obstetrics ….. who does GEHC rely on for AI obstetrics technology?? “GE HealthCare announced it received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for more than $44M to create user-friendly, artificial intelligence assisted ultrasound imaging auto-assessment tools. These tools will seek to aid healthcare professionals-even those without specialized training or experience with ultrasound-with clinical decision information to support more effective obstetric and lung screening ultrasound scans across maternal and fetal care as well as pediatric lung health, with a goal of expanding access to low-and-middle income countries and across diverse sites of care. Caption Health, a leader in medical AI acquired by GE HealthCare in February 2023, will design this technology to run across a range of ultrasound devices and probes, including lower-cost handheld devices.” | 40 fathoms
14/9/2023 14:39 | @40 Fathoms I'm on your side with that call, Puffer Waite & his various enterprise seem more like marmalade than marmite to me ! | bmcollins
14/9/2023 14:05 | Sadly, I am not sure I view his involvement here as a positive. | 40 fathoms
14/9/2023 12:49 | Gets a mention on Paul hill/Justin Waite podcast on Vox. Justin Waite bought a position yesterday. At ~36mins. | eeza

11/9/2023 13:21 | It'd be good to see a clear breakout above the falling upper trendline. | bamboo2
11/9/2023 09:50 | Hi 40F, yes we are saying the same thing. It's a shame there's not a bit more liquidity. | bamboo2
11/9/2023 07:35 | I think we are probably saying the same thing , but just to be sure, I think Sonolyst Live is going to be included as standard on every Voluson Expert sold going forward. So GE will pay us a license fee on every sale. If we are right, it would make sense to include all the bells a whistles as standard on the Expert which is their top end machine. You would think over time (possibly with varying degrees of functionality) they would do the same for Signature and Swift. Over a product replacement cycle we could well be taking a royalty on every Voluson machine sold. If I am right then this is huge and it will probably take sometime for the market to appreciate the significance of this news. | 40 fathoms
11/9/2023 07:21 | 40F, I reckon it's an upgrade to functionality that will lead to greater sales of the Voulson Expert. I think you are correct to say, that existing licensees will presumably get this as standard. | bamboo2
11/9/2023 07:14 | Fantastic so we now have the Auto Capture feature launched. I am not sure how to read this RNS it seems to imply that it is going to offered as a standard feature but it is not explicit. If that is the case it is huge and would underpin the confidence management has had about the growth in clinical AI revenue through to 2025. | 40 fathoms |
