I've read it, have you? You still haven't answered the question. The 2016 Annual Report reads very differently. Why quote 2015 when 2016 is available.

I've asked you for proof for the statement you made as fact. You haven't provided anything - there's nothing in the financials indicating 'sizeable royalties' - 2015 is a LONG time ago in this company - especially as they restructured in early 2016.

I'm not denying anything just asking for concrete proof as opposed to made up truths.

You do understand that some of the patent portfolio actually costs IEH don't you? They have to pay contingent costs as part of the purchase they made as part of the 2015 Results...

The 2015 results still talk about the GTL project and Dr Winand.. both are now gone from IEH.

If it were a fact the cash burn rate would be massively different.

Flipster---- It's a well known fact...DYOR

Take a look at the 2015 results presentation and you will find plenty of references to patents generating sizable royalties. The report also explain two offshore subcontract manufacturing facilities in Japan and China.

A significant part of the business is earning royalties from patents...The business has developed valuable intellectual property and it's likely to be a sizable earner...imo

I've visited the facility in Loughborough - as far as I know they had spare capacity in September 2016. It wasn't as hi-tech as you would expect - although I'm sure it is very efficient and fit for purpose etc.. This would leave me to believe that it may well be difficult for IEH to ramp up production past a certain point.

This is what the company says...

Class leading fuel cell technology platforms

Intelligent Energy's proprietary, high performance fuel cell platforms have been designed for high volume manufacturing in two distinct modular architectures; Air Cooled (AC) and Evaporatively Cooled (EC).

Our technology delivers low temperature operability, whilst utilising simplified balance of plant in comparison to conventional fuel cell systems. The overall result is a compact power system with fewer components, improved reliability and reduced system cost.

Intelligent Energy’s engineering strategy provides our partners with immediate access to:

Proven world-class fuel cell technology solutions from 1 Watt to 100kW and above
World leadership in power density of 3.5kW/l (volumetric) and 3.0kW/kg (gravimetric)
A substantial and growing intellectual property portfolio of c.1800 granted and pending patents across more than 450 patent families
Advanced technical and power system integration support services
World-class product development and testing facilities
Flexible manufacturing technology to significantly reduce development costs and time to market for products with integrated fuel cell power solutions
Reduced procurement costs through commonality of fuel cell stack and primary system components, sourced and manufactured on a global scale through our well established and proven contact manufacturing channels

Intelligent Energy hydrogen fuel cell power systems are field proven in the aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics and distributed power & generation markets where our proprietary system architecture allows for innovative integration into a vast range of commercial applications.

Last September the company had an offshore production facility in India...It will be interesting to learn if that is still viable or has been closed....I know they still have a base in Bangalore but not what it does apart from sales.

This may suggest the UK production has since been expanded...Job vacancies advertised suggest this is likely.

The production facility is at best 'semi automated' - which also means it's 'semi manual'... ;)

It isn't, I would guess, what you would expect to see. Although that was just the one in Loughborough. They were (in September) under capacity and have SMILE in Japan (in partnership with Suzuki and I think another in America.

@SCRUTABLE I should be able to make Thursday - I will want to ask those questions as well!

The company shrunk it's workforce a year ago from just over 400 to 200 and introduced cost cutting measures as well as dumping a bad deal in India because the customer failed to raise bank funding.

The business changed strategy and became focused on commercialising their patents for low volume and scalable high volume production..Orders associated with this change started to be reported in February and that trend is highly likely to continue.

Intelligent Energy have logged loads more patents since last summer. R&D is very much alive and well in the business model.

Most notably the development of Gas Cartridges for the aerial Drone Industry that could earn far more revenue than the sale of fuel cells.

The fact an American company is willing to invest in IEH technology should put you at ease if nothing else. Huge market and like I said it remains to be seen how quickly then can grab the market. Risk like anything else but big returns if it all comes off. GLA.

Does anyone have any idea what might be the value of the 600 unit order taken from Luxfer-GTM? Or when it can be delivered?. Small portable generator sets cost around £200. Does this suggest that the contract is worth just £120,000 What is IEH's production capacity? How far can they scale up? It will take more than one or two similar per month to save this company.

At 89 , I am probably not fit enough to attend, Thursday's AGM, but if I were there I would like to return with some useful numbers.

What's the value of a 1Kw simple fuel cell used as a power source? Possibly < £100?

Or to power a drone perhaps x5 times as much?

There is a gigantic market for fuel cells in stationary power generation, perhaps auxiliary, in emergency or in remote locations and/or to reduce polluted emissions. CWR has landed Cummins and Honda as development partners in this field and are aiming at licences from mass production IHE does not yet look professionally convincing. If they had the orders, could they produce enough to give decent return on capital?

I have just put in as much as I can afford and lost 40% 0n the first day through volatility and the huge spread.

Am I investing in a toy factory?
