divineessence, you need to conider the following:

1) Are IDP's revenues growing to support a growing market capitalisation - Yes.
2) Have similar companies been taken over for $1 billion - Yes, and HC gave an example.
3) Has HC been able to deliver so far (which would suggest he can continue to deliver) - Yes.

Hence as HC indicated in the interview earlier this month he is building IDP for a £1 billion or $1 billion takeover, then I would tend to take his word.

I am thinking about writing a book (I will have my spelling checked!) about the tricks that market makers get up to 1

Any suggestions for a title ,and would anyone be interested in buying it ? (special discount to forum members)

MARKET MAKERS- Part 2

Have you ever noticed that, time after time, when a company produces a good set of numbers that the share price goes down? Why should this be?

Well, its a fact of life that mm,s can make themselves a lot more money by reducing the price which sets off a whole train of motion( helped by people on forums!)and before you know where you are the price is 10 or 15 per cent lower.

In other words they are likely to have a lot more potential sellers than would-be buyers if they left the price the same or even raised it a little. Make sense?

Hence if the results are not worded in the right way ,or just one negative sentiment is expressed, they know that there are people on forums, etc, who will latch on to this, thus justifying them m m,s action in reducing the price!

As I said yesterday : market makers definitely rule the roost!

That is why I only invest in companies recommended by the likes of SCSW who have been well researched and offer above-average growth potential

IDP is very much in this ilk.

Thus we can only hope that , come Monday, the IDP statement is "water tight"

However;very worse case senario - if,unfairly ,the price were to go down on Monday it will come right in the end(quality always wins out in the end!)

Those pros numbers were unobtainable which is why it was cancelled.

PROS might have thought those numbers were unobtainable when the deal was being considered a year or so ago but having seen the success CH has had since, I think hottingup is on to something. I wouldn't bet against the tie-up being resurrected.

In a way, given how little track record there was a year ago, it seems quite remarkable that, at that time, the "$3.8m during 2016 increasing to US $10m in 2017 and US $20m in 2018." commitment was being considered at all.

If a deal is at last done with PROS it will certainly be interesting to see what levels they commit to now. It must surely reflect the success CH has made of IDP over the last year, hopefully giving PROS the confidence to sign up to at least the revenues they originally baulked at. If that is how a deal is structured of course.

(Thanks incidentally to the very few posters on here who have anything constructive to say hottingup, Croasdalelfc, boonboon and one or two others. Mostly dross!)

Like I said before the market will be keen on the growth factors in Monday's RNS. In my opinion at this stage the numbers are not that significant but these do indicate company is on course to be big and a potential takeover target. $1b is too ambitious I think, 1/4 of that is more realistic in a couple of years time esp. as "boldy" and "floppy" get cracking. I've put aside some cash for Monday just in case. If there is correction then opportunity to further buy and hold. If 'boring' RNS expect £2.60-£2.80 & if great RNS then £4+ on Monday. Lots to look forward to, this company ain't going to standstill that much is inevitable.

I think englishlongbow is taking that from HC's interview earlier this month in which he definately spoke enthusiastically about takeover valuations in the sector and how quickly similar companies to IDP were taken over within a few years of launch:

Interview with IDP's Harris C (1/6/2017) - Starts at 8 min 15 sec:

In the interview, I personally consider HC is clearly signalling that a takeover is a realistic potential exit strategy here and he sets down the benchline figure he expects (not sure if it is for all or part of the business - someone astutely pointed out earlier that IDP's new 'Stevie K' brand could alone be the new 'Warpaint London').

P.S.
Just read this in the Interim Results (9/2/2017):

"the Company is in discussions with PROS Korea to address distribution of the Company's products in China, Russia and Japan."

Presumably this will reactivate the cancelled HoA for a distribution deal originally entered into early last year with PROS, then suspended, which stated:

"The HoA signed in Sydney between the two parties stipulates the distributor committing to purchase InnovaDerma’s existing and new products with a minimum revenue commitment by the distributor towards InnovaDerma™ of US $3.8m during 2016 increasing to US $10m in 2017 and US $20m in 2018."

Roll the $ numbers forward to 2018, 2019 and 2020, and there could be another $3.8m, $10m and $20m revenues in each year respectively, just from a distribution deal with PROS.

I think he wants to flog off ST and Stevie K for a billion and then concentrate on baldy and floppy

I don't think he's necessarily after a takeover of the whole company. I guess once they've taken a brand as far as they can as regards to growth or they get offered a very attractive valuation they will sell and bring through new brands again. We're a long, long way from that though.

The Trading Update next week will be the best ever. IDP shares should already be 4x or 5x the current level based on the growth trajectory and peer valuations, and we know from HC's interview on 1/6/2017 he is aiming for a takeover above £1 billion at some point which is more than 20x the current level.

EDUCATION TIME!

Forget about numbers and guidance !

Do people on here not realise that the MM,s have probably decided on Mondays IDP share price FINISH already.

How do I know this?

Although I do not know any Market Makers directly I have many friends who work in the City who mix with these .After a few drinks all sorts of "secrets" come out!

Think of the worse accusation that you have made against an MM and they are capable of this and even more! They do exactly what it says on the tin and will go to any lengths to encourage trades (buy or sell -they do not care -they still get paid!)

The only caveat is that they are able to do this in a "normal " market- a slow one makes things even easier for them!

Hence our best hope for Monday is that buyers flood the market -which could easily happen!

Make no mistake- these people are in charge and THEY control share prices!( it has very little to do with other factors but the good thing is that with a brilliant company such as IDP ,quality will eventually win through in the end and the price will trend higher.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE ( apart from those few who want the share price to stall!) FOR MONDAY! Enjoy the weekend. PS My 350P prediction for to-day was almost spot on!
